John Oliver mocked Trump for a prophecy he did and look like karma come to bite back John Oliver.
Smartypants HBO comedian John Oliver owes President Trump a deep apology for mocking his prophecy that just came true
By Thomas Lifson
John Oliver embodies the mentality of the elitists who look down on President Trump and his supporters as ignorant buffoons even better than his HBO colleague, Bill Maher. The very people whose self-regard is dependent on their academic credentials, social standing and career prestige adore Oliver as the sort of person they’d like to be. He’s a Brit who still speaks with an Oxbridge accent (he even graduated from Cambridge) after decades in America, and his sarcasm aimed at the people they hate is as sharp-edged as Maher without as much ugly hatred showing though.

Naturally, the mainstream media started falling all over themselves with praise when he debuted on HBO in 2014 as host of Last Week Tonight, when his gig on The Daily Show with John Stewart ended. Time Magazine named him one of the 100 most influential people, Vanity Fair gushed, the New York Times called him a “smash,” and both The Daily Beast and Time assured us that he’s not so much a comedian as a journalist. Naturally, he started getting honors: Peabody Awards (3) and Emmys (8) – so far.
With all this standing as an Important Voice, Oliver should face a reckoning for mocking President Trump when he warned us in 2017 that after the mob was done with Confederate monuments, the Founding Fathers would be next, a prophecy that played out just last week.
Yaakov Pollak called him out on Twitter:

They aren't. But people are coming out and voting for trump in the GOP primaries, despite him running unopposed, and they're doing so more than for Biden, of whom it actually ostensibly matters.

Edit:

That should scare the shit out of the DNC. We're less than 6 months away and the Bernouts are STILL refusing to swallow their fucking pride, plug their nose, and vote for the pants shitting retard.

Cross-posting, because it's worth pointing out for Mike's comment below, that Bernie endorsed Biden a month and a half before the PA primary. Biden should really have started to consolidate support by now.

I think it will be after the first debate. They're going to let him get slaughtered, which will give them the cover to replace him or Biden to step down saying he tried, but can't handle the rigors of politics anymore. And then they'll move Kamala up to the top of the ticket.

They can't replace him before the nomination with Bernie in second place in delegates because Bernie Bros will riot again, not that they still won't anyway. I think the DNC and their cronies would rather a President Harris than a President Demmings because they know Kamala is truly one of them. So I still think she will be the original VP.

To every who thinks Biden will indeed be replaced, who do y'all think they will make the new running mate? Whether it's Harris or Demmings or Abrams or even Duckworth, I have no clue who they would select as VP. I think it would almost certainly be a white male to balance the ticket but I'm not sure who.

Harris/Buttigieg would be a disastrous train wreck of a ticket. But it would set up a Pence vs Buttigieg debate which would be must see TV. Buttigieg claiming Pence hates him for being gay and Pence saying funny how I never heard this complaint when you were Mayor and I was governor.
I heard that Kamala was supposed to be the winner, but Tulsi destroying her threw the plan out the window. I don't think they can salvage her campaign; she still doesn't have a good rebuttal for Tulsi's accusation, and a power tripping DA is going to be seen as the love child of a Karen and Officer Chauvin by the abolish the police crowd.

Unlike any period in history before us, we have unfettered access to the direct sources. Why read a skewed article on CNN or Fox when you can simply watch a press conference yourself? Why get someone else's analysis when the records and information can be interpreted yourself.
Completely true. The problem is information overload. If you go straight to the government website and look, Congress will have passed like 30 something bills today. How do you know which ones are relevant to your life and which ones aren't? Just the time alone to read those laws will take hours. Then on top of all that, those bills are written in some pretty dense legalese.

The idea of human society - the "grand server" - working is efficient load balancing. Instead of every human mind trying to contain all the data (which it can't do, it's just impossible), you spread out the tasks. This brain over here worries about and focuses on the data related to one thing, while another brain over there worries about and focuses on data related to their thing and so on.

"Bob, a part of your focus is impacting my focus, can you sum it up for me?"
"Sure, Joe. All you need to know about it is...."

For a system running on meatbags, it's really pretty ingenious. The problem with the internet is that bad data is flooding into the system, as well as everybody trying pull your focus. Instead of Bob talking to Joe when he needs to, now it's Joe running up to Bob and constantly trying to interrupt his work with the top 10 things that Joe knows about which Bob should know too.

Ideally by now, the media should be reduced to an aggregator. You'd have the original, direct source at the top, then underneath the different sides pitching their interpretation of that source and how it impacts you.

POLITICIAN SAID SOMETHING
{Video of the speech with transcript attached}
  • His party explains.
-It's going to be great and awesome for everyone!
  • The other party explains.
-This means certain doom for everyone!
  • What this means for police.
-Well shit, this is going to make our job harder.
  • What this means for factory workers.
    -lol get fucked
  • What this means for robots.
    -Kill all humans.
  • What this means for knitters.
-Not a damn thing, go about your business.
  • What this means for mimes.

So Bolton hopes for a "one-term presidency."

Why does his "book" sound as if it is the poorest form of literary revenge porn ever crocked up?

These new champions rising late against God Emperor Drumpf are truly exceptional.

They've gotten so bad that they don't even have object permanence anymore. Just because someone isn't physically present in a room doesn't mean they cease to exist, Cheri.

They keep pretending that it was spunky kids that did that, and not the stereotypical middle-aged TDS lunatics.

I've seen some speculate that the guy who killed George Floyd might get off due to Floyd having (allegedly) violently resisted arrest
I wonder why they aren't releasing the car and body cams? Hmm.

Do these people honestly believe teens give one fuck about politics?

He looks like recluse Howard Hughes before he died.

He's got that Chomsky dick-flattening look to him.

They don't even remember the narrative from the last week, it's all flattened into 'Orange man' racist bad corrupt evil etc.'

Heck, Floyd's burial and the Minneapolis riots already feel like old news.

People forget easily (people likely aren't going to be paying attention until July), and a fawning media campaign can help a lot, especially in rationalizing her flaws for the unacquainted (i.e. the excuse that her police experience allows her to reform it).

Hopefully Trump can just run her Tulsi debate 24-7.

Is it just me or did Obama suddenly get really quiet once the BLM riots protests started?

Man it's almost like they don't want to remind people they had a black president for eight years and that fuckall was done for black people. Or that he was the one that rapidly accelerated the militarization of the police.

It's like @It's HK-47 said, they've deliberately inflicted a lack of object permanence on themselves. Obama wasn't President, Trump is President, Trump has therefore always been President, Obama was just this really cool dude we all definitely liked and who never had any scandals in his time doing something but he definitely wasn't in a position of power to change any of these issues.

I dunno about this. Trump didn't do massively well in his first debate with Hillary, it was the second debate where Donald beat her like a drum and that was the one that everyone seems to remember. Also even if Biden is semi-lucid, Trump will still be capable of beating him in a debate because Biden is an old establishment white dude. I.E the same sort of person that Trump tore through in the GOP primary to get where he is now.
Disagree, Trump did pretty well during each of the debates.

Feel it's worth looking back at the gender reversed reenactment that was done of the debates. Which is kinda cool to watch to get a sense of how we judge the candidates partially off their sex and can try judging what they were really saying.

(Starts with an excerpt from the first debate)

Hillary's mannerisms and talking points came across as fairly obnoxious from the get go, while Trump came across as more matter of fact, strong, and passionate. I figure part of this stems from how Democrats like Hillary feel appealing to experts should be the end of the conversation, while you had Trump willing to harp on issues like the widely understood fact that manufacturing had left the US.

It may be a slippery slope, but there's only a small difference between messing with a rally and interfering with an election.

Slippery slopes do not exist. Do you think LGBT would end in pedo-rights and grooming? Do you think people would actually be dumb enough to tear down statues of Union War heroes?

And grandstanded in front of BLM as a means to have a nice progressive legacy for the history books, unaware or uncaring that it made race relations worse when the President says cops are naturally racist and it's fine to burn your neighborhoods to protest them....

I think the feeling is mutual.

It's cute how they think this little fight is the most important thing in the world, the brave resistance militia and Saints of the Press vs. the Evil Empire.... when anyone watching it is just treating it as the best Soap Opera to hit the airwaves since the 90's.

The media have yet to notice the power dynamic has changed and they are irrelevant, no longer the 4th estate, the shapers of the message, now they're the court Jester who mocks the King and thinks it means something other than a laugh.

Dems don't care about experience, they voted Michelle's nobody done-nothing husband into office after all. But the only people Michelle appeals to are the shallow youth voters who are unreliable at best at showing up... and black people. And the blacks would probably be outraged they didn't just make her the candidate, which would dampen their turnout a little more than they did for Obama's.

Still it would be one of their smarter moves. Admitting that they have no interest in actually governing, but smart from their usual PR standpoint. But why start doing the smart thing now?
They only care about experience after trump got the nominee and won

Gonna power level here a bit, boys. Apparently, our news channel here in... let's say, a country in Asia reported on Trump's Tulsa rally being trolled by TikTok. Over 6000 in attendance as opposed to the projected million, I get it. What they didn't mention, however, was that the livestream had over 8000000 in views. Seriously, what is the point if a lot of people are still gonna watch and hear the man?
They must think that Trump draws magical energy from his rallies, and if he doesn't see packed seats before him his egomaniac brain will start to go haywire and he'll lose his mojo.

Considering how they tear down statues, steal signs, vandalize offices and try and cancel the internet, they really DO think that there's some mystical mana-link shit going on where you can de-power the monster not by fighting it, but by cutting off it's "spirit energy", don't they?

That's lefties for you.

They say they want something, and righties, moderates, and normies are like "Yeah but that could lead to x, y, and z" and they respond with "Oh you're just being paranoid and making up reasons not to give us the thing we want" and then a few years later that thing we feared actually happens and we're supposed to just be okay with it.

Womp womp.

Whiteness is on the chopping block.

You know that Fallism shit from South Africa? It has spread to America.

There was some guy rambling in the riot thread about how this is a form of cultural warfare, where you deprive the enemy culture of its heroes so it has a harder time defending itself. So I can totally believe they think that.
