Rayshard Brooks, 27, who had fallen asleep in his vehicle, failed a sobriety test, officials said. He was shot after a struggle over a Taser he grabbed from an officer, the authorities said.

An Atlanta man died after being shot by the police who found him asleep at a Wendy’s drive-through on Friday night, the authorities said.
The man, who was identified as Rayshard Brooks, 27, of Atlanta, had fallen asleep in his vehicle, causing other customers to drive around him, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said in a statement.
Mr. Brooks struggled with the police officers after he failed a sobriety test, the authorities said. As he was being arrested, he resisted and witnesses reported that Mr. Brooks grabbed and was in possession of a Taser that had been deployed by the police.
He was shot during the struggle, the bureau said, though a bystander’s video shared on social media showed the struggle between Mr. Brooks and officers, and appeared to show him running away when the police opened fire.
Mr. Brooks was taken to a hospital where he died after surgery. One officer was treated for an injury during the episode and was later released.
The Fulton County District Attorney’s Office said it was conducting its own investigation into the shooting, separate from the bureau’s.
“Our thoughts and our sympathies are extended to the family of Rayshard Brooks as we must not forget that this investigation is centered upon a loss of life,” the district attorney, Paul L. Howard Jr., said in a statement.
State and local officials spoke out about the shooting.
The Rev. James Woodall, the state president of the N.A.A.C.P., said on Saturday of Mr. Brooks, “there was nothing that he did that was deserving of death.”
“Our overall message is that we are done dying,” the reverend said. “We are done waking up at 1 or 2 in the morning to another murder or yet another case of police brutality.”
Former gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams said on Twitter that the killing of Mr. Brooks “demands we severely restrict the use of deadly force.” She added, “sleeping in a drive-thru must not end in death.”

The Atlanta Fire Department just had A press conference to reveal they had identified and arrested the individual whotorched the Wendy’s. (As expected an entitled trustafarian White chick). At which point the idiots in the media started asking the most moronic questions. “How can you prove the security video wasn’t doctored?!?” “How dare you just leave the building to burn!”(“Ummm ma’am, you do remember all the rioters throwing rocks and shit, right? We don’t send Firefighters into that.” “How Dare You Not Take Rocks to the Head! That’s Racist!” I so wish I was joking. I’d say the mood of the Cops Right now is 50/50 Strike. And if they do the other services go with them. They are all sick of this shit.

Judging by the video footage she was definitely involved, but she participated with at least three other people including two black men. It might be easier to hang this all on one spoiled white girl rather than acknowledge the rest of the perps but she sure as shit didn’t act alone.
 
If nothing else, this proves why coalfax is an essential service, should have a database accessible to law enforcement, and deserves a .gov domain.

Personally I wouldn’t object if the cops selectively avoided protecting any kind of media building.

If they could find the ones that threw the rocks, sentence THEM with her. But she was dumb enough to do it in plain view, thinking she could "cloak" away. And caught on camera.

Anyone with at least three functioning brain cells can watch the videos and conclude this was an obviously justified shooting. Does the fact that he's been charged mean it's now legal to point and fire weapons at police? Or just that it's illegal for them to do the same in kind?
 
The man secured a weapon from the police while resisting arrest. What were the cops supposed to do, duck and cover and hope the situation resolved itself? I don't know the ins and outs here but if this is as fucked up as it sounds the department ought to walk out in support of this cop. I would not want to be a cop these days in the US.

I think the narrative that we’re seeing emerge is something that’s been there all the time, which is “if a black man wants to do some thing it dont matter if it’s illegal or wrong, just step aside and let the brother through“. Not the most original thought, and I’m sure everyone else has figured that out along time ago.

I also wonder what would’ve happened if Rayshad or whatever his name was had caused a fatal accident while driving under the influence. I can tell you that his family and his girlfriend/wife/baby mama would have been saying what a complete waste he was and a no good man, rather than praising him as a saint.

To think 6 decades ago they chose Rosa Parks who had a clean record over a woman who was pregnant out of wedlock, they knew that they had to be careful with who they selected to be the "martyr" for their cause, what caused BLM/the left to regress so much in planning stuff out.

If she TRULY believed that blacks are victims of a rigged justice system, she'll gladly take the fall for them, time to see how deep those convictions run, I suspect she'll name names as soon as she realizes they don't have almond milk in jail.....
