Rayshard Brooks, 27, who had fallen asleep in his vehicle, failed a sobriety test, officials said. He was shot after a struggle over a Taser he grabbed from an officer, the authorities said.

An Atlanta man died after being shot by the police who found him asleep at a Wendy’s drive-through on Friday night, the authorities said.
The man, who was identified as Rayshard Brooks, 27, of Atlanta, had fallen asleep in his vehicle, causing other customers to drive around him, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said in a statement.
Mr. Brooks struggled with the police officers after he failed a sobriety test, the authorities said. As he was being arrested, he resisted and witnesses reported that Mr. Brooks grabbed and was in possession of a Taser that had been deployed by the police.
He was shot during the struggle, the bureau said, though a bystander’s video shared on social media showed the struggle between Mr. Brooks and officers, and appeared to show him running away when the police opened fire.
Mr. Brooks was taken to a hospital where he died after surgery. One officer was treated for an injury during the episode and was later released.
The Fulton County District Attorney’s Office said it was conducting its own investigation into the shooting, separate from the bureau’s.
“Our thoughts and our sympathies are extended to the family of Rayshard Brooks as we must not forget that this investigation is centered upon a loss of life,” the district attorney, Paul L. Howard Jr., said in a statement.
State and local officials spoke out about the shooting.
The Rev. James Woodall, the state president of the N.A.A.C.P., said on Saturday of Mr. Brooks, “there was nothing that he did that was deserving of death.”
“Our overall message is that we are done dying,” the reverend said. “We are done waking up at 1 or 2 in the morning to another murder or yet another case of police brutality.”
Former gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams said on Twitter that the killing of Mr. Brooks “demands we severely restrict the use of deadly force.” She added, “sleeping in a drive-thru must not end in death.”

China is inherently stronger than the United States because the goals of the CCP (stay in power at all costs) and the goals of the Chinese people (CHINA NUMBAH ONE i.e. nationalism) are more or less aligned while the goals of the American ruling class (keep getting elected and enrich themselves and their cronies) and the American people (who don't seem to have any united goal) aren't aligned at all. That's why China can exploit every division and especially gain control of the American ruling class since those rich multibillion dollar corporations LOVE the money they can make out of selling to 1.3 billion Chinamen or selling large shares of their companies to Chinese corporations like Tencent.

Shit, look at movies. Tencent has huge investments in Hollywood and helps them distribute their movies in China and thus make sure they can get the Chinabux. In return, Tencent (and others involved on the Chinese side) makes sure they scrub anything the CCP doesn't like. And they know what the CCP doesn't like since their CEO "Pony" Ma Huateng is a CCP party member and politician. The USSR never had that sort of pull in Hollywood back in the 50s, and Hollywood was a lot smaller back then (yes and I'm adjusting for inflation). And Tencent does the same thing with video games and a lot of other media, all around the world.

Movies aren't a good source of information, it's almost always blown out of proportion. The movie industry only describes the addictive nature that Asians have to US culture. And even then, that addiction to Hollwood and gaming that if cut off from it due to war, Asians would be lack luster in fighting with the CCP.
The head of the CCP are sunk in the same type of groupthink as the US was in the 60's and 70's, refusal to look truth and facts in the face. If they were learned enough to handle a castastrophe successfully, none of use would have ever known about coronavirus.

Nah, at the end of the day the American hegemony isn't going down without an actual third World War happening if there was a serious enough threat to it, China of course dreams of being able to topple us from within but I don't think they could truly succeed.

And in that case you wouldn't need to worry about learning Chinese, but learning how to saw off a shotgun, look good in leather and fight over oil.

But Iran would be quite happy to try to wipe Israel off the map, in which case the Russians would be glad to provide assistance, but the US certainly won't sit back and let that happen.

I don't even know how much it would be antisemitism with Russia as opposed to just the fact that in the schism between east and west Israel falls on one side and Russia falls on the other, but it's certainly antisemitism with Iran and as we've seen hate makes people do crazy things, things like start World War 3 because you believe Allah is on your side and the state of Israel has got to go, maybe.

I'm not sure where you get that one. Relations aren't great, especially thanks to Syria, but they're not at that point.

Yeah because him getting home safely will make sure he won't do this again tomorrow. Hell 5 minutes after cops left because he really wanted that Wendy's. Also why Wesley think Uber drivers are able or willing deal with a black out drunk person? They are unpredictable, annoying and alot of work. That can at worst turn in a medical emergency and less seriously but more likely into a mess.

If he had just gone with cops what does Wesley think would have happened him in custody? Drunks are the biggest group most police deal with. The station I worked as cleaner had 4 "drunk tanks" that could house two people each. Those were the most used cellrooms by far. The police will be well rehearsed dealing with people who have too much to drink. Basically they just book the drunk in as fast as they can, do sobriety test and other time sensitive stuff, but then get them in a cell and just leave them to sleep it off. Everything that can left to next morning is usually left to next morning when the drunk can actually talk and think coherently. It's as drama free and safe as something like this can get as long as the drunk behaves themselves.

The court of public opinion is tilted, but legally none of them did ANYTHING wrong. They followed procedure, didn't initiate the attack, and when the situation escalated they did as they have been trained to do. They didn't know what the drunk guy grabbed but he ran off and pointed it at them as he fled. It doesn't matter that it was a taser, it could have been a gun or a baton, but it was depriving them of a weapon and is grounds for execution by all accounts. What, are they to just let the guy knock them about and flee the scene with their stuff?
Even if it were a case like with Mike Brown or Trayvon, with numerous witnesses LYING, we have detailed video evidence and a number of archives of footage from several perspectives. Had an innocent black man been lynched in a location with such surveillance on the scene, you'd undoubtedly have conspiracy theorists claiming it was a set-up of the basis of that alone.
So what I would like to know is, how can any of them legally even be reprimanded for this, let alone fired? And also, what is their recourse in this situation and retribution for subverting their rights. I don't know what their union is doing but I'd be suing the pants off whoever made the call to fire me

It's just more evidence that we're living in clown world now. Cops are being punished for defending themselves against a violent criminal even though they followed all department procedures and the thing was caught on camera. We're going to see an increase in jogger crime if we make police afraid to do their jobs because stopping a black criminal from committing a crime is rayciss.

I'm not going to claim all this is "black pilling" me, but I'm not holding out much hope for sanity to prevail in the major cities until they start seeing massive crime waves affecting the affluent or communities start organizing private security forces with their own guns and people and actually start shooting criminals and hauling bodies to the landfill or dumping them in rivers.

The stupidity we started seeing from people from the Chinese flu was enough to (finally) convince my wife that we needed a gun after years of firmly refusing to even consider it. This horseshit right here with these shootings and subsequent riots and "lol let the niggers do anything they want" has convinced her that she needs a handgun herself that fits her hand more comfortably and she's actually nagging me to get our concealed carry permits taken care of. She wants to go rifle shopping next. We've both decided if our government won't protect us, we'll protect ourselves, and we're slowly building up a nice little armory.

In 2016 when Trump won, she woke me up the next morning to tell me "we're fucked." 2020 has red-pilled her so much. She's even flipped from blue to red; she openly supports Trump now and has told me she'll never vote blue again. I'm so proud.

That and we both agree we'll never again set foot anywhere there's lots of blacks. Majority black cities are off-limits now. The pavement apes can have 'em. If they're present in large numbers, so is crime, and we know now the cops won't help (and will be punished if they try).

So great job, BLM. Jim Crow lives. Segregation is coming back. The great monkey uprising is beginning, and eventually whites will get pissed enough to put it down mercilessly while ignoring screeches of "racism."

So, one crime incident netted him 13 years in prison, but a year after that incident, he nets another 10?

Does that mean that he was on parole/probation and used that time to brutalize his family? Or that he committed more time in between his sentencing and his jailing?

These people (liberals) clearly have no fucking foresight. That's why people criticize socialism all the time.

By calling an Uber and taking him home, you've enabled him and others to do this again. Then when a car accident happens or he hurts himself, who do you blame? There are reasons why laws are placed. You just have to, you know, read them.
