Whenever the topic comes up I have to re-watch the video to remember what that San Japan guy tweeted that was so offensive.

I don't think his point is wrong, really. He's basically saying "if you want certain people to show up at cons, then support the cons they show up and and they'll be invited back." Even the way he phrased it, while not at the level of PR-speak that it probably should have been, isn't really that objectionable to me. Am I alone here?

Not that it matters what I think, of course. The mob gets what the mob wants.

Jinnie also wrote an affidavit for Ron and Monica and was interviewed for the Japan Times article. She had her own #MeToo allegation come out a year later (#JinnieGate2020). A member of the press, Beau Dufrene, reportedly turned down her sexual advances at one of her conventions, and she retaliated by restricting access to guests and making things difficult for him in the future. He would later state that she belonged in jail because she was a criminal.

Not inviting POC guests because they don't bring in as much money as sexual predators and popular asshole divas may be true, but that's not something the chairman of a convention should say out loud, especially not right now.

I find it hilarious that this San Japan thing started because Megan Shipman put Dave Henkin on blast for saying that they don't invite POC guests because they don't make money and now today she posts that guests should make sure to demand money because that's what cons expect/get out of having them

Between Ron's meltdown, cons being cancelled and now this, this proves that coronavirus was the best thing to ever happen to Vic while simultaneously being the worst thing to ever happen to these people. I can't wait for more skeletons to come out the closet. This filler arc is now canonical.

The best part is this sentence: "Please do not hold the stupidity of one man against the work of countless POC and LGBT+ who have worked for over a decade to make this a model conference". They clearly didn't like the guy and are obviously happy that he is gone.
 
Will there be more fallout from this fisaco? I hope so.
By the way is there many( if any) black VA's in anime?

The most notable I can think of is Beau Billingsly (he plays Jet in Cowboy Bebop and has been a guest at a fairly large number of cons). Other than him, the only other ones I know of off-hand are people that were thrown out to screech that more POCs should be guests and are Jaimie Marchi or (usually) lower level of notable. But I admit I'm not a big VA jock sniffer, so there may be some that I just don't know about.

For the New York scene, Marc Swint (he's buddies with Bennett the Sage) has started to slowly make his rounds since landing the gig of Kiawe from Pokémon. But I think he won't get more attention unless he gets something bigger, which is a shame since he's not a bad voice-actor.

Drexel should lend out his voice tbh, I think he could make a good voice-actor. Just has to avoid the Texas scene unless he enters more into video games.

What a nasty little bald toad. Don't let these scumbags fool you, though. He isn't fired for being the disgusting piece of shit he is, or his openly criminal and conspiratorial conduct. He's fired for potentially opening this hive of scum to liability with his open admission to collusion and blacklisting, which is not legal behavior. This group has engaged in blatantly illegal behavior, and nobody called this motherfucker out when he said this shit, only when it became public knowledge. They are all complicit in this.

It's obvious that the main motivation behind his termination isn't fighting against racism but covering their tracks. I mean, look who's a part of that group - Faisal Ahmed, Jinnie McManus, guys who stupidly filed their affidavit on Moronica's behalf. Despite what they publicly boast, they are trying to hide something they don't want the public to know, or even several voice actors know. I hope more skeletons get revealed soon. God, it sure would be embarrassing if there was an unidentified mole uncovering their secrets piece by piece without their knowledge.
 
Good chance more skeletons will fall out of the closet due to many who have been wanting more power will seize this opportunity to do so and rise up in the ranks by destroying another. The way of the world.
 
 
Granted, if this was truly about supporting black VAs in the community... perhaps we should turn the lens onto dubbing companies that allow their jobs to be taken by white VAs. Anime doesn't have a ton of black characters to begin with... But if you look up their VA, 95% chance their VA is white.

But... uh.. yeah! Support the black VAs! We aren't taking away potential jobs from them or anything like that.

There's also Bob Carter, who voiced Bojack in the Dragon Ball franchise.
