This is exactly what happened after London's riots in 2011. They would use the cops as eye witnesses, and the lovely cameras dotted all over London to just roll up on everyone involved when they were alone or out and about on their day.

Expect it to keep happening over the next few weeks.

Most have systems that flag up potential assaults based on past patient behaviour and send police ahead of time.

So no, I doubt this very much. It's throwing these people under the bus.
 
Donut Operator uploaded a video talking about why defunding the police is a horrible idea. He also breaks down the dumb #8CantWait nonsense (spoiler alert, the police already do almost all of it).


TL;DW: Cutting funding takes money away from training which leads to more incompetent cops doing dumb shit that leads to protests.

Also Donut is fucking great and has a wealth information about police procedure even if it falls deaf ears like it is now. I would encourage any Kiwis interested to check out his channel.

The people going out to protests and riots are mostly young and will probably be fine but if their parents and grandparents start getting corona and dying because of them, they'll find a way to blame it on someone else. Why didn't the police/government enforce social distancing?! Why didn't you break up the protests sooner?? Why didn't you tell us to stay home?!?

The rioters are actual retards. Through a combination of mobile phones, cameras, eye witness and forensics people who turned up to riot are going to be in for a big surprise when they all start getting arrested.

I somehow don't think these bail funds are going to be worth much when the judges start slapping ridiculous prices just to keep people inside.

'But cops cover for bad cops so there are no good cops, bad apples spoil the bunch', they say, completely failing to see the irony as they constantly cover for their own and only call out their bad elements if their paranoia makes them think someone's an undercover cop. For what it's worth I do think police covering for each others' wrongdoing (See the 3 idiots with Chauvin) is one of the main issues with law enforcement that needs reform more than anything but all of these protests and the sentiment around them are only going to make it worse. Cops are only going to feel more isolated and besieged than ever before, who else can they turn to if not each other in these times?

It's 100% bullshit. I think some of it will blow over within the next few weeks/months, but right now, saying anything remotely pro-cop or even not saying anything pro-BLM is a recipe for disaster. We are being held hostage by these people, mostly people who have nothing to lose.

Then again, they might come after you anyway since it's not OK to be ambiguous or neutral right now, either.

Only thing is the DA's office per state might be less amenable to slamming hard and heavy bail prices and cucked out activist judges might let them off. There might not be the same parallels there with London due to the more fragmented legal system in the USA.

Which is a shame as this is the opportunity to break the back of the rioters and "protestors". Putting the fear of god into these spastics tends to make them once bitten, twice shy.

After 2011, the government instructed the Met and CPS to do its fucking job and do it correctly or else.

Indeed, the govt would piss off the Met so much, they'd desperately try and embarrass the Tory Party by rushing off into the trees with Operation Midland, believing a con artist and a mentally ill pair who were both Labour Party activists that there was some super secret super serial pedo ring deep within the Tory Party. You can see there's evidence of a blacklash from people in the general public now. But, the problem is the media, google, Twitter, Facebook, are ready with the ban hammer wherever to stamp it out. So I wonder if this is going to overflow at some point.

Who is going to be prosecuted? AFAIK the NY rioters have been guaranteed immunity by the prosecutor.
