I think "dying" is pretty accurate. I sometimes wonder why that fried hair hasn't all broken off yet. Must be the miracle of a good conditioner or maybe it's so matted underneath that it couldn't fall out even if it wanted to.

I would understand if she was tied to her Latin community, so she knew if there won’t be cops there are people who’ll help her.
Her parents won’t safe her if someone comes in their house - in fact, her parents are the ones who needs to be protected. And don’t even start with “I won’t kill a person if they’ll loot my house”. It’s not about looting. Aggressive invader is a much bigger threat, that at best can result in robbery.
