If there's a way to charge these mayors and governors with dereliction of duty or something similar then they should be charged and put on trial. Civic leadership is a sacred duty and there is no excuse for leaving it on the table or being paid off to ignore it.

I am getting the impression none of these mayors, especially Mayor Discount Justin Trudeau in Minneapolis ever thought they would be forced with the most terrible authority of command. Order other people to their deaths. I can maybe forgive a Mayor for this failure of responsibility, but in governors its absolutely unforgivable. Both the Mayors and governors, Minnesotas especially, are so pants shittingly terrified of the thought of death they have willingly surrendered the monopoly on violence to a baying mob.
