Thread is filled with some super salty troons, many of which are now doubling down and calling Rowling a child abuser + screeching that she used her wealth and power to censor them.
 
Idk if this girl is on anyone's radar here, but I found her on r/detrans and I think she's pretty cool. In the linked video she describes how she didn't feel comfortable conforming to feminine standards of dress and behavior, and so she concluded that she must be trans. She's collaborating with other YouTubers, sort of making a name for herself as the voice of detransition. Her channel is getting tens of thousands of views, so she's doing pretty well for herself. I think this is great. I predict many more detransition-based channels like hers will start gaining traction in the coming years.

It absolutely is verboten, because it sounds too "clinical" and "medical", like they have a diagnosis or mental condition given to them. You have to remember these are the people who want all the benefits of "NO of course we're not insane, we're fully functioning and aware of PhD level Biology, let us run society." while also reaping the benefits of "I'm mistreated and oppressed by systemic transphobia, I need my insurance to cover all my SRS medical costs".

Just remember telling them over half of trannies have at least one personality disorder and see them melt in doublethink psychology.

This is really terribly sad. I feel so sorry for this girl, and other girls/boys like her. Will her voice ever go back to normal?

It's not that you're misremembering it, it's that I was referring to an Italian paper on the issue that said around 50% of them had a personality disorder, the 80% figure comes from the Iranian equivalent of that experiment. I'll edit my post if I find it, I know it was posted in the Twitchdeer thread.

Edit: Found it: Apparently the Italians think that the most common PD in the trans population seems to be BPD rather than Narcissism (seems like Narcis is more of an MtF trait than an FtM one), but I could very easily see the latter be closer to the truth.

I don't think it was on the advice of their own legal team. I think it was on the advise of Rowling herself and HER legal team.

The murder victim was a trans man - well, boy, she was a minor - and the murderer an adult trans woman (and another dude). So once again this will be a trans woman probably going to female prison.

I am a detransitioner like her (also FTMTF), and long answer is, not without intervention. She'd have to do voice training or have vocal feminization surgery, and the former takes quite the time investment and the latter doesn't really magically make your voice sound like a cis woman - just makes it higher in pitch, so many mtfs who get the surgery sound more akin to effeminate gay men than women. We're mutuals on Twitter and she was undergoing voice training around Feb. this year, but it's a long process and realistically, she won't get back to pre-T range if she was very high-pitched.

Some detrans'ers swear by vocal changes or a "lightening" of the voice but this seems highly variant and anecdotal only, unfortunately. This is a great example of a FTMTF detrans voice that, with voice training, has gone back to sounding cis female (though not in her original range).

Short answer: no, not on its own.
