It's funny to see the same people who (rightly) mock Trump for being more talk than action on pretty much everything are now freaking out because this is the one time where he is totally going to do it and isn't blustering.

Trump wasn't "promoting" anything, just stating what was going to happen to the rioters.

It's amazing how you take anything from the "good" or "correct" authority figures as face value gospel truth, like a literal cultist.

EARN IT is what I was thinking of when I said "both sides" but the bill was unpopular enough that there'll probably be some "new" law that's 90% the same as EARN IT. Short of someone like Ron Wyden introducing some extra protections like he did with 230 in the first place it'll still be a stifling shitshow.
 
Eh....should I be more worried about a cartel of global megacorps in an incestuous alliance with media, politicians, professionals and activists in a political bloc that spans all spheres of our society and forms the establishment which runs the world or just one nutty grandpa politician?

So Drumpf tweets some wacky overblown solution to a real problem. So what? I'm amazed people aren't used to it by now for the 1 billionth time its happened. Trump saying wacky things? What a shocking revelation! Why are people still acting surprised after 4 years?

People actually need to start paying attention to what he does rather than what he says and so far he's basically operated as a typical moderate Republican for all its benefits and faults and a counterbalance to his opponents which are far more powerful and worse. My guess, is even if this thing is as bad as people are making it out to be and it does go anywhere it will be negotiated down to something practicable like everything is especially when it comes to Drumpf. I mean its not like other politicians don't make extreme initial proposals. If someone kicks down the doors to kiwifarms and drags us off to jail it probably won't be because of Drumpf. Wake me up when this actually changes.
