Not only the horror of watching your partner do some shit that truly makes you wonder if they're trolling to the nth degree, but when your partner is that fucking thing. I only know about these people from this thread and a little bit of searching here on KF, but Hope is not only not attractive, but a fucking walking red flag. You tie your life to that kind of a mess, despite the fact that it's blaring klaxons at you to get the fuck away, you deserve what you get.

Those comments on Sarazanmai and Kojima really do incapsualte their mindsets. Zac became bisexual when his wife transitioned, so obviously other men must be bisexual too and Kojima is clearly struggling with refusing to admit it because reasons. Hope came out as transgendered, so when she sees Sarazanmai she instantly thinks it'll be about transgenderism (spoilers: it wasn't, like.. at all) all because she thinks she sees the colors of the trans pride flag in the logo, or ropes and randoms hit. These people have made their sexualities their identities and his has rotten their brains and they see it everywhere. I don't have any screencaps or archives, but I also remember Hope's amazing takes on Utena's Ikuhara is a closeted transwoman who refuses to 'hatch from his egg'. Same with Jojo's Araki. Everyone must be secretly gay and trans in their minds.

At least she's getting some sympathy bucks out of this

Yeah, he had enough chances to seek help himself if he really wanted it, but instead chose not to for his own stupidity, then he allied himself with the worst kind of people and his mental health only worsened, it's indeed up on himself to choose that bad since he didn't get shit in return for ruining himself with dumb idiologies.

That's something I guess no one could expect, but is still his fault for putting up with said insanity and deciding by his own will to keep up with it just for his own ideologic foolishness. He followed his dumb mentality till the end and even became a faggot for it, I can only hope that he managed to see his own idiocy before reaching his end. At least that thing is receiving some kind of pity...even if it was most likely 99.9% its own fault to begin and end with.
I still find ironic that his "legacy" are a bunch of dumb takes on weeb stuff on a very stupid site like ANN and 2 cats with no friends to speak good for him. Guess that's a hard lesson to learn from, treat others like shit when alive and they'll do the same as soon as you die. Ironic indeed, if not just.

Zac said he might be bi. I think it's because he wants to be able to identify with somebody actually talented. I've seen troons make ridiculous and unsubstantiated statements like this before with respect to fictional characters. Brianna Wu with respect to Samus. That cringy tweet making the rounds with respect to Aerith (see below). Etc. Zac's statement is cut from the same cloth. A weird way of trying to achieve acceptance for something he's probably not comfortable with himself.

With Kojima, I don't buy it. Not that I'd think any less of him. If anything, Kojima has an adolescent mindset for the pus. I thought Quiet was pretty on the nose. The whole thing with Raiden was him masterfully trolling the player.

Zac was just stupid and bitter. Everything Zac and Hope commented on had to be about them somehow.

If I'm looking down the barrel of my 30s, though, and I still have to care about anime and online anime fandom as much as I did when I was 19, because it's my job and it's the only thing I can do to make any kind of a living? Shit, leaving aside the whole trash fire of a personal life, that alone would make me think about suicide.

I stopped going to, and working at, anime conventions in my late 20s. Best decision. No regrets.

Now I just watch shows if they look interesting, and nothing more. And I can keep doing that provided the SJW troon idiots keep failing to influence Japan.

Probably going off on a tangent, that's the one thing as a former state resident, I want to give credence to. For everything crazy and fucking insane the state has going for it, Florida at least isn't dragging the rest of the country down into its cesspit along with it, unlike, you know, southern/Orange County California. Well, yet, if any revisits have to say anything, but I digress. At least Florida has well LIFE to its ecosystem, while where South California will likely be reclaimed by the desert as time and wildfires tells. And I'm very sure its vibrant lushness is why Walt Disney chose the state as his foreground for his City of Tomorrow. There's a reason why it's called Disney WORLD. Disneyland, for the longest time of me, ain't got shit. I am always humored by the idea Walt himself is fucking with the current "Disney California" plans out above because even he knew how fucky Hollywood could and would get.

For all of South Cal's problems, at least it contained Zac Bertschy there for every moment of his waking life, thankfully. He wouldn't survive, let alone be worthy, to walk Florida's soil.
 
The World Showcase employees all do seem like really fun people to hang with. Plus you can learn so much about culture and stuff and not be racist lol.

Regarding Disneyland didn't the whole TGWTG crew hang there all the time? I seem to recall pics of Zac with Hope, Lindsay, Todd, etc at a cafe looking spot from DL.

I think Zac NEVER should've gotten into the "anime industry" simply because of why he got into anime itself in the first place. Zac was a hardcore Evangelion fanboy because he saw himself in it and felt it spoke to him in that angsty teen way that lots of people feel but most grow out of. Instead, he made anime his job and wallowed in it. All the time. The fact that he was supposed to be a functioning adult when he found "Flowers of Evil" a trash anime about MORE teen angst and "the world doesn't fucking understand me" and all that and again found himself in it really tells you all you need to know.

I don't celebrate his death, death is never something to cheer for. But the guy apparently did everything he could to not grow up. And not in that "I want to always play like a 10 year old" Peter Pan way, but in that kind of chuunibyou but more emo-narcissist kind of way.

"Anime conventions" basically became irrelevant/obsolete when video rooms lost their value (ie. when streaming/downloading removed the value in going to a con to see new stuff). Since then, they've just turned into a cash cow for all manner of shady people to bilk a bunch of stupid kids out of the money mommy & daddy give them to stay out of their hair for a weekend. If volunteers ever open their eyes to how they're being exploited and walk away en masse, then the whole thing will likely implode.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with making it your life and job. But if that’s the path you take there’s some things you have to consider: things change. What you love could always change with time and stuff that you enjoyed back then could age terribly or be forgotten. It’s nuanced. Sometimes you might have to change with the times and get with it because it’s still a business, and businesses must change with the times to continue striving. And also in this case, culture. Since this is a Japanese brand, you gotta understand what happens in this product is their thing. Sure we can laugh and scoff at the content but if this what Japanese people enjoy it shouldn’t come as a surprise, you should prepare for something like this. Why should they pander to you if they can pander to their people first?

Possibly none of the above. At the end of the Utena movie, some of the characters literally turn into automobiles. What are we supposed to glean from that? Who the fuck knows. Maybe he just wanted a car chase scene.


My point here is people (including Zac) are always trying to twist shit to their agenda. Oftentimes in the most strenuous ways imaginable. If people are going to say he's trans, I'm gonna say he identifies as a Honda Civic. There's about as much proof for that as the other thing.

This stuff used to just be hand waived away as "Lol Japan."
