President Trump on Sunday repeatedly lashed out on Twitter at former President Obama, days after reports that Obama had expressed concern over the Justice Department's decision to drop the case against former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Trump spent much of his Mother's Day tweeting and retweeting various accounts, with many of the posts aimed at his predecessor. In one tweet he simply wrote "OBAMAGATE!" In another post, in which he retweeted a supporter's declaration that Obama was "the first Ex-President to ever speak against his successor," Trump wrote, "He got caught, OBAMAGATE!"

Earlier on Sunday, Trump retweeted conservative commentator Buck Sexton, who claimed that "the outgoing president"—an apparent reference to Obama—"used his last weeks in office to target incoming officials and sabotage the new administration." Trump in his retweet wrote, "The biggest political crime in American history, by far!" Sexton is a former employee of Hill.TV.

The president also retweeted multiple accounts that posted memes taking aim at Obama, including one account that posted a graphic of Obama over the slogan, "Watergate will look like a parking ticket."

Trump's Obama-related tweets were just some of the many comments he posted on Twitter Sunday, with others lashing out at figures including CNN's Brian Stelter and NBC's Chuck Todd.

His tweetstorm came after his administration's controversial move to drop charges against Flynn, who had been accused of lying to the FBI about his contacts with Russia before Trump took office. The decision, led by Attorney General William Barr, was met with swift condemnation by Trump's critics.

Obama became ensnared in the unfolding drama after a private phone call between the former president and members of his administration were leaked to Yahoo News on Friday.

“The news over the last 24 hours I think has been somewhat downplayed — about the Justice Department dropping charges against Michael Flynn,” Obama reportedly said.

“And the fact that there is no precedent that anybody can find for someone who has been charged with perjury just getting off scot-free. That’s the kind of stuff where you begin to get worried that basic — not just institutional norms — but our basic understanding of rule of law is at risk," he continued. "And when you start moving in those directions, it can accelerate pretty quickly as we’ve seen in other places.”

The White House did not immediately return a request for further comment.

He's far from perfect but Trump just straight up calling people out like this is one of the main things I really like about him.
He stirs the pot like an autistic kid stimming by obsessing over getting every last piece of macaroni perfectly coated in cheese sauce.

But that's why I love it. It's like watching him tease the MSM/House Democrat cat with a laser pointer, never letting the cat satisfy the psychological urge to catch its prey. Endless entertainment.

When a Spanish dude who has never been to America has a better understanding of the situation than @The Last Stand after having it be explained to him repeatedly.
Im pretty sure he is Canadian. He also has the best helper on livestreams about once every 2 weeks.
realy interesting stuff, and much more intelligent people than other Law youtubers from minesota

As I mentioned in the Joe Biden thread, Trump is now fundraising off of Obamagate:

Trump's ads read like a something that those shady lawyers you see on TV after 3 AM would post on the newspaper. How horrifying it must be for the Dems to see that this is what they're up against and they're losing terribly. I'd prolly kill myself if I were them.

THIS. Although Trump is full of shit, the shit thrown at him would be objectively worse.

How embarrassing.

Thats what I thought the first time he walked out in one of those red trucker hats. It was still assumed that Trump had no chance of making it through the primary at that point, and I couldn't help but think, "This stupid cheap shit is gonna get him ripped apart." Boy, was I wrong.

I believe that fact that Trump has this one simple ability which is: Speak in plain and simple English so your average hillybilly understands what he is saying compared to his competitors in 2016 who put everyone to sleep.

Actually I think it's that Trump has been around blue collar workers in construction. He spent a lot of time on site with his father and in turn had his own children spend time working on site. He seems to actually like the people who literally built his developments so it's no surprise he's listened to their concerns and addresses them. I seriously doubt Hillary, who's known for being bad tempered and a bit abusive towards service workers gives two shits about Bob's retirement worries or Mary's fear she can't send her kids to college on a waitresses tips.

He's not making it simple for them to understand, his supporter's concerns are simple and easy to understand. Trump doesn't need to talk down to them but someone like Hillary feels she does, hence the gaffes about her using a fake southern accent, hot sauce in Harlem and the coal/coal miner comments that blew up.

The Democrats could have had their own master communicator if they hadn't shit straight on Marianne Williamson's head.

Reminds me Don Jr's RNC speech which I thought was pretty much the most positive assessment of Trump's character anyone has ever given

Trump, the LMAO BOTTOM TEXT candidate, while the left can't help but spend 45 minutes with a panel of experts picking apart said ad for all the "real" meanings and "hidden" messages and coming up with the perfect way to say "Diversity is our strength" in a way that it CAN'T be made fun of......... because they suffer from an addiction to complexity and have long since gone so far in the name of inclusion that they're splitting people apart at a near molecular level to determine exactly what political stances they must support by their very cosmic makeup, unless they want to be traitors.

CNN’s Jake Tapper was hit by a wave of criticism on social media Sunday after he accused President Donald Trump of “launching an unprecedented smear campaign against any rival,” with many accusing him and CNN of hypocrisy.

Tapper, commenting on former President Barack Obama’s recent criticism of Trump’s leadership during the coronavirus pandemic, added during a monologue on his show:

The criticism from Obama comes at a time when President Trump and his team are launching an unprecedented smear campaign against any rival. Leveling wild and false allegations against critics in the media and political rivals that range from bizarre false conspiracy theories to spreading false allegations of pedophilia to even suggesting one TV anchor committed murder. These smear campaigns are unmoored from reality. They’re deranged and indecent and seem designed to distract from us from this horrific health and economic crisis.

Tapper made similar comments on Twitter:

Tapper did not mention specific examples, though the “murder” claim appears to refer to an intern who died in MSNBC host Joe Scarborough’s office when he was a congressman. The death was ruled accidental, caused by a heart condition that had previously been undiagnosed. Trump has ribbed Scarborough over the incident, referring to it as a “cold case.”

But critics were not having it, noting that Tapper and CNN had relentlessly pushed a variety of smears against Trump and his administration, including the false claim of Russia “collusion”; the uncorroborated claims of sexual assault against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, and many more besides — without ever offering any sort of apology.

Last week, CNN’s media reporter, Brian Stelter, complained that conservative media were emphasizing the Michael Flynn story — in his view, at the expense of coronavirus coverage. Stelter showed no concern for the role CNN and other networks played in hyping Flynn’s supposed role in a Russia “collusion” conspiracy that never actually existed.

Wish we could go back to the times when what people are saying on twitter wasn't considered news.
