Although I've seen that Aerith being trans headcanon before, I'm going to stick to Sephiroth being transed by Professor Hojo à la Jazz Jennings. That's why he has long hair, uses a sword to compensate for his micropeen, and eventually goes crazy trying to be like his mommy Jenova. It's a silly headcanon that I came up with but if you don't agree with me, I'm going to call you a transphobe and ruin your life for being a bigot. No pressure, though.

So what if those freaks exist? Just because another culture does something doesn't mean that we should copy it. At this rate it won't suprise me if they start defending pedophilia because child brides are common in shithole countries.

Found this exceptionalism today:

Say it with me: cultures with a third gender are/were typically ones that felt the need to create a new category for gay/GNC people because they had rigid gender stereotypes. Indigenous tribes viewing gay men as "not men" and therefor in need of a separate gender is not the same as teenagers on Tumblr renaming themselves "Kai" and going by "they/them." The idea that who someone fucks or what they do for a living changes their gender is pretty un-woke when you actually think about it.

Let's take a closer look at these examples (some of which are misspelled.) Māhū were biologically male-- they were men who performed "feminine" tasks still considered to be inappropriate for women. For the longest time, the term was believed to just be the Hawaiian word for homosexual (it isn't-- it's more like a description of profession.) Faʻafafine is literally the exact same thing, but in Samoa instead of Hawaii. It's an adjective that literally just translates to "effeminate" (wow, such third gender, much abolition of gender roles.) "Hijra" is just the Hindi word for "eunuch" which people in modern times have appropriated to apply to Tumblr genders. The only one of these that really holds water as being analogous to modern day troons and genderspecials is the five genders the Bugis people have, which are basically male, female, FTM, MTF, and "Bissu." Hmm, that's funny, I thought considering trannies to be a separate gender from normal men and women is wrong, but I guess TRAs are willing to overlook that so long as they can use this obscure culture to prove a point.

Notice how the argument being made by this meme basically amounts to "well, ethnic minorities do it, so if you object to it you're RACIST!!1!" I shouldn't have to say why that's absurd. Even setting aside the fact that these cultures all have third genders as a result of rigid gender stereotypes, something shouldn't just be okay because it happens to be practiced by a persecuted group. For instance, there are cultures out there that practice FGM. Does that mean the culture is evil, or that its people are? No. However, culture should never be used as an excuse to infringe on other peoples' human rights, and FGM is very much that. You can disagree with certain inhumane practices in a culture without hating or disenfranchising an entire ethnic group.

Also, if we're going to use Tumblrina logic to fight Tumblrina logic-- stop using brown people as props or points of argumentation. Whens the last time ANYONE in this thread encountered a genderspecial that wasn't lily-white? The only "two spirit" person I can think of is Kent Monkman, who goes by "he" and is by all accounts just a gay man (and also never even lived an a reservation.) Also, yeah, the "two spirit" thing is once again just like the Māhū-- a third "gender" that was mostly created because they needed "female" equivalents in ceremonies that women were forbidden from participating in. I fail to see how that's progressive, but people took it and ran with it and now it's just another term for genderspecial.

My favorite part of this argument is the rather racist implication that them primitive brown people are just too dumb to figure out how babby is formed.

Twitch has appointed a tranny as chief of their new weirdo safety council, from what I can tell they function similar to Reddits 'Anti-Evil' team where they don't have any actual power but point admins in the direction of shit that they think should be banned.

Anyway, lets check out what chief tranny FerociouslySteph is up to (Twitch clips might get deleted but I don't want to use Nulls precious server space + I have made copies locally for now)

https://clips.twitch.tv/KawaiiOnerousYogurtCopyThis - Someone with an obviously male voice moaning about getting harassment for being female in voice chat, sure bud

https://clips.twitch.tv/DifferentYawningSwanResidentSleeper - Wants to remove voice chat from all games because 'if I can't have it, no one can'

https://clips.twitch.tv/PopularAgileWoodpeckerShadyLulu - The last one, and the worst. Roleplaying as a deer in this weirdly sexual scenario, not sure who the old bag is meant to be, but it is deeply disturbing and for once people on Reddit actually agree.

Also peep the classic autism/FAS mouth/philtrum, everyone troon has one!

What a mess

That's the really teeth-chatteringly stupid thing about that sort of transgender argument. Every single one of those "native gender identities", without exception, boils down to:

"You're not acting like a man*, but you are clearly not a woman*. So we'll make a separate category of people, not equal to men or women, for you to inhabit."
(* And vice-versa.)
Not really vice-versa. All of those ~totally ancient and sacred indigenous genders~ are males. Even the Bissu "gender" of the indigenous Bugis people of Indonesia.

The citations in the Wikipedia page about the amazing progressive Bissu gender are mostly post-2015 articles from authors eager to apply modern troon ideology to an obscure Indonesian culture. Bugis society is not some tranny Garden of Eden where gender transcends the binary. Bissus are men occupying an exalted role in society (priests). Their ceremonial clothing looks feminine, and they claim to embody the sacred feminine to make themselves seem more mystical, but it's just men.

The woman in the middle here is not a bissu:

A couple of the articles claim that bissu priests are "intersex," but this is a misnomer. They don't have ambiguous genitalia or any biological intersex condition; it's all spiritual.

Anyway, here's a tidbit from tranny social media about it (EDIT: please note I am including this drawing because it's stupid, not because it is an information source):

I added that "and vice versa" bit to cover my ass because I remember reading an article years ago, before this huge push for "everything is transgender" hit the mainstream, talking about one of those obscure tiny tribal-level Central African cultures where a minority of women who did male-associated activities weren't classed as "women" anymore. Nothing about dysphoria or anything like that, of course, completely social stuff related to traditional gender roles and their position in the social hierarchy. I can't find it anymore so either the article was discredited, or the websites publishing it all folded since. I'll give it 75-25 odds.

All that aside, your example shows how little the "NATIVE CULTURE ALWAYS HAD TRANSGENDER RIGHTS, Y'ALL" crowd actually care to research their claims. Or weigh them against their own ideology, for that matter. The specific brand of aggressively feminist "progressive" politics they embrace would excoriate a system like the Bugis if it hadn't been brown people doing it, because it's "men taking over femininity in order to gain power". TERFs in particular would be frothing at the mouth at it. Patriarchy! Patriarchy everywhere!

There's also the bacha push in Afghanistan, where families without sons dress up one of their daughters as a boy. The newly minted 'he' can now perform all actions a man is needed for, like working, or escorting their mother to the market. That is, till 'he' reaches marriageable age (thirteen to fifteen), then it goes right back to being a girl.
There also exist a vice versa but that are child sex slaves.

Anyway, here's a tidbit from tranny social media about it:

That diagram is from a personal semi-cow of mine and it might be worth not taking it too seriously as an information source. The artists behind it are very much into "queering" indonesian cultures and representing lgbqt versions of ideas from these cultures, a la how fanartists often turn their favorite ocs or mythological figures into troons.

To all "Death to Capitalism" trannies, here's this.

"I hate Capitalism with a passion, that's why I have dedicated my life, health, body, and soul to the profit margins of Big Pharma, clothing manufactures, hair and makeup manufacturers, construction companies, social media corporations, social activism and political causes, mental health facilities, and plastic surgery companies."

I wasn't trying to present that hideous illustration as an information source! It's just an example of trannies trying to latch on to bissus as ~totally kweer~. I included it to make my comment more relevant to the topic of this thread (social media troonery).
