Putting Connor in a group home is a huge waste of resources since he seems capable of taking care of himself aside from the occasional bout of crotch fungus. What he needs is more socialization like group therapy and going on activities and interacting with other people. Maybe an adult summer camp or retreat where he's divorced from his electronics and forced to interact with others and do team building exercises. A less dramatic approach would be to figure out what his college has to offer in clubs. I'm sure Connor could find a group where they hang out and talk about movies or do things. Community College (at least te one I went to) is full of spergs.

Yeah, agreed. Group homes are for people who have difficulty maintaining a basic level of functionality (e.g. cleaning and feeding themselves). Connor doesn't need that.

In terms of his mental faculties no. However his socialization skills are extremely broken probably almost non existent. A group home may be a bit much but If he wants a shot at a normal life he's going to need fairly intensive therapy.

That calls for, like, summer camp or the military or volunteering abroad or something. A group home is for people who can't function. Connor just won't.

EDIT: nvm i m :stupid:

To echo what others have said, group homes are for the severely mentally ill & people with moderate to severe retardation. Connor sure as hell isn't going to find any socialization there.
I did a brief stint in one after I was hospitalized because I'd just been kicked out
, & it's a hellish experience for someone not in a perpetual psychotic haze.
also I am p much the authority on group homes & the mental health system, so ask away if you gots questions

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I think it would be far more likely that Connor would get subsidized housing if he really needed it, with a social worker checking up on him from time to time, than to go to a group home.

That said, his parents are pretty much bound and determined to keep as much control over him as they can, so I doubt housing is a major concern for Connor right now.

Yeah, but I still think it would force him to look at his situation in perspective. Like, here are people who have crippling illness who face it every day and what does connor have to talk about? "BLeh hw is hard I should just give up. No one will date me cause I'm a sperg"

Ha, know what he really needs? Military school.

Seriously, though, while I don't think he needs to be in a group home, I do agree with @Sigyn that a short stay would really put things in perspective. Or if his parents said, when he was admitted, "you know what, fucky you, you're not coming home until you've been here a few weeks."

Man, I already miss our little sperg. *sigh*

I'd rather have him than those Sluthate douchefucks & that fluffy pony torture-porn guy.

The worst part is that I can't even seem to art today.

Guys, this morning someone was in the toilet when I needed to go, then I lost at Candy Crush Saga 4 times in a row. Sometimes it feels like life is kicking me in the balls.

I write one line about Connor's worst case scenario, and that seems to be what becomes the topic of conversion. I don't even know man (:_(

Sorry, babe. That doesn't mean the rest of your post was disregarded, though! D:

In addition to Connor plays Pokemon, we need to make this a "first-world problems" thread.
