It's rather disturbing how many people seem completely willing to give up all their rights due to a nebulous emergency. Don't think governments around the world aren't taking notes on what they can get away with in the future, even when there's not a good excuse to do so.
Who knew all it took to make the Patriot Act popular was a sneeze?

Is it not karmically delicious that to fix his declining star among his fellow libdems after 2 years of minor (but unforgivible) deviation of saying only "Orangemannotgood" instead of "Orangemanbad", he'd have to toss a #MeToo'er under the bus? To "prove" he meant it?

And that he did it with a smile?

He went crawling back, they all go crawling back, they can't survive outside their hugboxes.

Don't forget that he is saying Tara Reade is at Putin's command. Still can't let go of autistically screeching russia.

If there's one thing I've learned is that nothing will stick to greese and Bill is nothing but it at this point. What's more suprissing is that people actually watch his show, I don't know how a man can make a career off of saying something stupid then raising his eyebrow with a shit eating grin.

At this point even McCarthy is going, "Dude! You're going a little over board!"

"It's a price calculated and set by a select few, and we are expected to then pay it"

Oh, and by "select few" we mean these hoards of thousands of regular people telling us what risk they'll tolerate, not the even more rarefied and even more select few like Governor Whitmer and Mayor DeBlasio telling the thousands what risk the people will be allowed to tolerate.

"The price of freedom is high, but we will pay it" say the people

And the "Heroic" leaders of our nation say " Sorry, for your own good, we've suspended it's sale"

To folks like Chuck who write those kinds of articles, the pinnacle of human free will is to give it up to your betters since you can't possibly use it the right way on your own. Being someone else's highly-evolved house pet is the duty of every moral man....
"Don't you know? If even 5% of the population is out and about they'll keep the Wu Flu alive perpetually, ruining the world for everyone else!"-These people, probably.

So, anyone going to talk about this?

Bill isn't doing very good on his track record, between the whole two faced metoo and wishing for a recession. OOf
Without knowing the details, which I really don't care about anyway, I actually tend to believe Bill Maher is innocent. A man who owns a company called "Kid Love Productions" probably likes women much younger than Rose McGowan. That's what the police would call a 'clue!'

Everyone wants safety, but fundamentally, the leftist ideal of safety is a perverse belief that it comes not from freedom of the individual prerogative to take action for self-defense, but it's polar opposite, deferred conformity.

The essence of safety to the leftist mind is not allowing anything to "stand out" and "attract attention" because they honestly think being ready for a fight will ATTRACT one. As if putting a smoke alarm in your house will only make it more likely to burn down because you antagonized it by not trusting it.

Being helpless and nondescript somehow means someone looking for an easy mark won't even see you or will respect your self-granted noncombatant status. The leftist mind thinks that gun-free zones work and banning something makes it go away, no just exclude it's use to criminals.... because the root of all violence is YOU provoking your own victimization by not being bland enough.

It's the thought process that drives things that on the surface don't seem important to be defended with hyper-aggressive levels of near violence and legal action against any internal deviation, like HOA's, overly-moderated internet forms and and Karen's little clique that always takes over the discussion at every PTA meeting.

Eh, maybe, but, here's what I want to know: You went on a show called Politically Incorrect, and the host was... politically incorrect, and that was............ a problem you never saw coming that ate away at you for 30 years until you finally got up the nerve to tell someone?

Yeah......................

Well it was 30 years ago, Rose was 17 in '90. Who knows maybe he was trying to use her to find all the boyfriend free girls in high/middle school.

Edit:
It is interesting introducing people from other countries like India and Arabia to the US, especially conservative parts where we have gun ranges and tend to be vastly more individualistic than their home countries. Its a funny form of culture shock for them.

When this pandemic is over, you think politicians (Trump, Republicans, and Democrats) will rely on science experts to run the show?

Because the Democrats relied on control of the traditional media to promote a band of being the party of the little guy for decades.

For being a bunch of allegedly unhip and crusty boomers, somehow, the Republicans got a better handle on social media than the Dems did and their tailspin is a direct result of bringing their old weapons of the papers and TV talking heads to a battle they are woefully obsolete at winning as the enemy side has better ones.

The mask is slipping and showing the true face of the Dems as being incredibly elitist and intolerant and only paying lip service to the "little guy" while hoping they just die off so they don't have to rub elbows with them anymore because modern media can rip off the mask faster than they can put it back on, and they never invested in new media when they should have in the early 00's because they felt it would never grow to be more powerful than the CNNs and WaPos they had.

They controlled all the railroads and utilities on the game board, so they couldn't lose.... they never saw the Republicans buying Boardwalk and Park Place and putting up the hotels until it was too late.
I must say, I don't think it has anything to do with either party actually changing. They both have remained... mostly the same. Which is the problem (for Democrats).

The democrat party has long been run on a grease of hypocrisy, praising workers while encouraging immigration. Saying they are for the small man while aiding big corporations. Being for everyone, while being absolute elitist fucks. When they had control of the media and the narrative, they could downplay this and gaslight the nation. The internet and third party media right fucked them there.

Meanwhile, the republican party... also never changed. While there has been some downplaying of the religious angle over time, their core and even general views have remained largely static. This is for good or ill, depending on how much you like conservative policy. The thing is though, its not run on hypocrisy, its run on basic tenants and usually religious beliefs which can be softened (For example, on the topic of gay marriage) but which do not really change. So when the internet really got going along with third party media, the republicans came out looking like normal people compared to the democrats who were shown to be slime creatures.

Think about it, when you think of "Republican Hypocrisy", likely two things come to mind. "Gay Sex Scandals" and "RINOs". The former only effects the politician personally and isn't party wide, the latter is seen and acknowledged by the party itself as an issue to be solved. No real PARTY hypocrisy here, only personal hypocrisy.

Now think of "Democrat Hypocrisy". I'll wait a while, this might take a bit to complete the mental list.

Seriously though, several things probably immediately sprung to mind, and several more the longer you thought. And how many are spread throughout the party or, worse, are part of the party platform?

Eh I think it's simpler than that.
Patriot Act = Republican.*
Quarantine = Democrat.
Plus quarantine has been rubber-stamped by academics and scientists.
And we all know how much neoliberal bugmen love Science.
*Never mind that the Patriot Act was a bipartisan affair.
