This is going to sound autistic but this was pretty much how Gamergate started, it wasn't so much the inciting incident but the following overreaction that spread way wider than anyone could have expected. At this point it's just roping in passive viewers just curious about what all the stupid fuss is about and it's to the point where Dick probably can't do anything to contain the drama.

Although I do get the sense this is only as contentious as it is just because there's nothing much else going on and people are bored.
 
Looks like Rand is already starting to guntshield, I expect even more today from the rest of the guntsphere. Hopefully josh doesn't explicitly suck up to Dick and the gunt today on mad at the internet, that would be fucked.

They need to just stop, acknowledge they got blown out and then business as usual. They're going to catch shit about it for a while, but eventually Suzy Lu or Warski will do something idiotic and then the eyes will shift.
