Nah it's more to it than that.
There's Kale, Caulifla, and Kefla.
Kale is your typical meek little girl type... who happens to be a Saiyan from an alternate Universe. Everyone was expecting a female Goku or Vegeta type character, instead they get a lesbian Shoujo yuri manga protagonist. (Ok, so anyone who knew Gine didn't expect a female Vegeta outright, but, still.)
And, in typical Toriyama humor, she tends to go fucking berserker snu snu mode when pressed, which involves her going Legendary Saiyan, aka, the "once in 1000 years" Saiyan prodigy that Brolly was. Which gives her Brolly's body shape and green ki. She's basically Brolly with tits, and is just as dangerous as he was... but is just as dumb as a post as he was in this form, so it's kinda worthless.

Caulifla is your typical school delinquent type, literally a gang leader, complete with your standard high school delinquent tropes like a long skirt and sarashi style top and the like. Only thing she's missing is a face mask, maybe a hoodie with some threatening kanji on the back, and a wooden practice katana.

Everything about the Universe Tournament arc is sped up stupidly fast for various reasons, mostly cause they didn't have 5 years to do the requisite filler. Partly because of this, the Saiyans in the alternate Universe are very quick to gain Super Saiyan forms and the like. Caulifla for example goes SS, then does the hulk-out-mode that Trunks learned not to do ("SS Third Grade"), then SS2... which took Gohan watching an entire arc of his friends and family members getting their asses kicked/killed by Cell in order to finally bother doing.
As for Kale, she can go "Legendary Saiyan" like Brolly, but wasn't raised to be a living weapon like him, so... She's got a lot of potential but is pretty weak, cause, meek little girl and all that.
In the tournament arc (60 hour long fight scene) that ended DBS (for now), they end up fused as "Kefla" which took Kale's potential and mixed it with Caulifla's battle maniac nature. And arrogance, cause she tries to smack talk Goku and gets a Kamehameha to the face for her trouble.

This was actually a pretty cool scene, as she mocks him for jumping cause he can't dodge in mid-air, but he then uses the building kamemameha to skip off her own beam attack to dodge it. Which apparently is a thing you can do. (The Black and White SSJ thing Goku is doing is called "Ultra Instinct," which basically puts him on a higher plateau than the entire rest of the cast and sets up the upcoming "Dragon Ball Ultra" series nicely.)
