Not sure if it is related to Phil, but the WWE Champions content creator noted he broke his personal best number of viewers in his stream yesterday (capping out at 242). Timestamped for your convenience;

He himself thinks the new record is a result of it being his daughter's birthday, but I somehow find that hard to swallow given that he streams to a bunch of gacha whales at 2 AM in the morning. In fact, if I was him I'd be worried that anonymous internet dudes are tuning in for my grade school aged daughter.

Wuh-woh. He's not wrong, though.

I don't think Phil is trying to start his own faction. It is so much work to recruit and verify people. There are two major purposes for being in factions. One is to pit member against each other on their own faction to place the highest. The other a collective efforts of members contributing to events so their faction place high against other faction. And of course, this being a gacha game, the dev of this would design events that reward money spend instead of time spend. This design is true for other gacha game he used to play such as Marvel Future Fight.

If Phil is a new player, it make sense for him to start faction as new players are not addicted to spend $$$$ yet. But he's not a new player. He was in a very high ranked faction already. Not being able to compete with other high ranked faction probably hurt him personally more than the bankruptcy did.....at least for right now before the result of bankruptcy filing

My theory is he is just idiling in his own "place holding" faction where he at least get some minimum rewards even if it is just himself in one faction. This current in game event is basically ruined for him b/c he failed to predict he could be kicked out and then rejected by competing faction. This also contributed to his bad mood while streaming as he's frustrated by not able whine about being kicked out.

He's waiting for winds to blow over so that he could join another high ranking faction. Hopefully one that won't bother to check his background or one that doesn't speak English.

interesting correlation

wwe champions release date, Jan 2017 vs "bills", which seems to explode in Feb 2017

Early 2017 was also when his Machinima deal fell apart though. He allowed them to drop him in March 2017, but I think he had been having issues with them for some time before that too, due to the general conditions in the Youtube ad market. So I don't think this is directly WWE-related.

Phil still appears to be whaling hard and I think he'll at least try to get in more factions. I don't think the thread is dead yet. Plus, if he quits Champions, he'll near certainly whale in another game.
I think this bears repeating. This isn't even the first time he's whaled out on a mobile game. I wonder if his ego will allow him to name himself something unrelated in any future mobile games? Worth noting he has to make himself in any game with a character creator.

I really hope he saw that one live, not sure if hed actually get mad over it or not though
I can't find a clip but someone definitely told him about it
He basically just applied damage control by mewling over how "I can't believe this sad sack of shit wasted money for this totally lame prank"
Even though his own viewers pay him upwards of $40 so he'll put their name on a Minecraft sign

If I recall correctly, January 2017 was when the YouTube Adpocolypse occured. It was that event which eventually triggered Philip’s falling out with Machinima.
