You don't.
Bio-medical tech can't stop a wildfire plague. We should be able to, but fuck big pharma, and we need to spend a trillion a year on environmental research.
Yes, GameGrumps fan, tell us how you know trump personally stopped all testing. Your wailing into the void will be noted on your tombstone under "shit nobody cared about".
Because your probability of getting rioted to death by a horde of people starving due to supply chain disruption goes up drastically if things break down. That british panic years back was all of what, a week without gas? If the chains of food, shit scrip, and the like disappear from shelves then people will have to find those somewhere, and for some of us in shittier places that could very well mean our kitchen. If you have a good community around you, panic can be fine and mitigated, but if you are in a place that's urban and isolationist even in a street block, it can get spooky real quick.
Not to mention people going out of work, out of money, and out of drugs. We have a society that uses all kinds of vices to keep the peace. If we see any pinch show up in drugs, drinks, or food the peasants get grumpy.
I mean, pretty much half the reason for declaring a "state of emergency" was so the government could subsidize American industry. Everyone knew this was going to happen for what, a week now?
The local firehouse postponed its fundraising dinner and everybody with guns is out practicing today, but the robins and swallows are back and we're putting in the garden. Life goes on, I just hope the world is still open for business tomorrow so we can get a few things in town. We've established the necessary, now to work on the cushion.
The electric and gas company in California made announcements claiming they won't be disconnecting people in the state if they're unable to pay the bills because of the Coronavirus. I'm wondering if this is happening in other states in the USA.
Yeah, that's my only real negative right now. If the boomer population has a massive die off from this, then the real estate market will be fucked and property would be dirt cheap. (Aka buying now would be a mistake.)
However, 0% interest rates is one of those once in a lifetime type things. If the market survives it's really tempting for anyone making large purchases like a house.
