did you forget Jamie's costs allegedly will be covered by a feminist org? This was made public around the time of that NPR propaganda piece IIRC.

No need for her to settle. In fact, she could maybe hire a much higher-powered firm.

It only raised 40k from what i remember, but highering a different law firm? With what money? She doesn't even get lines at conventions.

I just used 60 sheets of paper to print this out at work to read the brief. Let's do this shit.

Many times these covering of fees are contingent on the recipient acting in good faith with all parties involved. I guarantee you the agreement has something like that in it, so if she loses and is out hundred of thousands of dollars they'll come back, point to her tweets since the TCPA hearing as well as the mediation being a shitshow by the defense and say, "You didn't act in good faith, you get nothing".

Soooo, anyone have thoughts about the brief? Was it worth the wait? Not worth it? Felt like you got grifted by Douchette?

Admittedly, I don't know much about law, but after a bit of skimming, it looks pretty good to me so far. Much tighter than Beard's later filings (no hate, though--the case has a LOT of bullshit to parse through), and got to the point pretty quickly.
I've read the entire brief.

Satisfied with what I saw. The defendants will have a lot to answer.

If I am Funimation looking at this brief and I weighing my options to settle or nah, fuck it...let's keep going?
My bold predictions remain on track to become true.

Marchi is not getting a better law firm. Time's Up does not give out blank checks.

They continuously re-evaluate the political value of each case as it progresses and put a lot of pressure on the women they support to keep legal bills low by using public relations to influence decisions by the other party.

I have not seen a wildly persuasive news story about this case. The stories were very scripted and cliche.

Read through the appeal. Well, most of it. Good shit. Now, how long do we have to wait? 6 months? Maybe more, maybe less? Fuck.

Remember the whole thing about toye not being a funimation agent.

Remember in the ronversations. Ronald talked about a man which he is talking to who recieved accusations and ron was setting him on the right path unlike vic.

Biggest fucking hmmmmm of my life

Why didn't you just read it on your screen? I assume it would be less obvious than flipping through 60 sheets of paper, and less trees would have died.
I want to have something to read on the train ride home...and reading sheets of paper at work is less conspicuous than looking at my cellphone the whole time. Turns out the higher ups don't like it when I'm on my phone or computer doing non work related things.

she'll lash out in anger like before, at the con around the time the process server was harrassing her stunning and brave self.
if she's in the shitter for real she WILL cry like a little girl.

pot-heads
Who uses paper anymore, boomer.
I suppose you could use dried leaves to roll .... nah, too much long term planning involved. Heroin addicts could get the business handled, pot-heads ... not so much.

I just noticed, Emmett Plant the perjurer isn't mentioned anywhere in the later sections where they argue against the various affidavits as hearsay/character evidence. Fucking Manjawlo gets mentioned, but not Emmett.

Vic-senpai does not notice you, and neither do Martinez Hsu. :story:

His affidavit is so inadmissible it doesn't need mentioned, cause the level of hearsay and bullshit is so high.

Would be funny if they tried just him on perjury charges, cause hes so out about how he didn't perjure himself on his affidavit.
