I'll try not to Powerlevel too much, but I do have some insight on BPD, having been diagnosed with it myself.
While people with it used to be seen as being a "lost cause", there has been a lot of research done in recent years. Knowing more about it can help in dealing with it.
Because my bf and I have researched it to hell and back (along with my being in counseling), my symptoms are nowhere near as bad as they were in my teens/early twenties. Having a good support system also helps. It's not an easy battle by any means. But if you're willing to at least try to seek help and take the necessary steps (be they therapy, antidepressants, or some combo of the two) you CAN learn to live with it. Same as with any mental illness. I'm glad I didn't give up and feel that my life is better because of all the hard work I put into trying to understand and cope with it.
I don't try and use it to excuse my behavior. If I get snippy with someone or lash out in some way, I don't whine and blame my BPD. That's on ME. Therapy actually helped me come to this realization. To quote my old therapist, "You are not your mental disorder. It may be a part of you, but it's not YOU." While personality disorders can fuel certain behavior, it's not the sole cause. This is why I don't care about what mental disorder Grex may have; To me, he's a horrible fucking person, regardless on if he has Antisocial Personality Disorder, BPD, etc. Speaking of...
What amuses me about Grex's screeching about BPD is that he himself has claimed to have it as well. Go listen to the voicemails he left for Adrienne. Hell, he posted a video on his Speaks channel where he goes over the symptoms and admits that it sounds just like him. There's even a page about it on Life of Onion.
In the words of Marcus Parks from Last Podcast on the Left : "Mental illness is not your fault, but it is your responsibility".
