Lots of viruses are shed and spread through poo. Normal cold viruses, hepatitis strains among them as well as the obvious bacterial illnesses like cholera and typhoid. That's why good sanitation is vital to maintaning a healthy society and people need to wash their fucking hands properly with soap every single time they go to the toilet. So much disease is spread ordinarily because people think dribbling a bit of water of their fingertips = washing, or are just dirty bastards and don't wash their hands at all after pissing or shitting.

I long for the day that automatic doors are feasible everywhere. I am a strict handwasher but other people aren't and doorknobs have to be some of the germiest places imaginable. I don't use public restrooms unless I absolutely have too but there's so many places that you still need to touch doors. I feel like colds and flus / other bugs could be massively brought down in number if all doors were automatic, or the apparatus to open/close/lock them could be foot operated.

Same with money. Anytime you touch money you should wash or have hand sanitizer around.

We clearly live in the end times when leaders are this fucking weak and rather trade their citizen's life / health for the "muh feels" distraction over seriously warning the population about the seriousness of this disease.

The millitary need to overthrow that weak ass government and impose what is necessary for survival at this point.

And i still vote to disinfect China the good old nuclear and napalm way, if they ask for european help being the number 2 superpower in the world then it's already way too late, it can't be saved.
The problem is that the economy runs on feels. The slightest hint of panic could send it into a tailspin.

Well that's it for India, Seattle and San Francisco. But on the positive side Trump might actually get to order San Francisco and Seattle nuked in order to save us all.

India will be fine. The Pajeets are immune to things not even discovered by science yet.

Pic related. A traditional Indian Baptism where instead of water the newborn is ritually placed in Poo

Why the new Mao fixation? What's that all about?

It's about Xi seeking to erase Deng Xiaopeng's economic and polictical reforms and re-establish a cult of personality. Deng sought to erase Mao's cult and instead gave China free market reforms and put in place political limits such as strict term limits for the Premier to insure that China would no longer be ruled by the whims of a single individual. That it would instead basically be ruled by committee. Xi erased those term limits and has been tying his image in to Mao's and encouraged a return to Mao'ism in order to cement his personal power ala the corrupt Kim's of North Korea.

As if things couldn't get worse for China, a 5.2 earthquake just hit it. So people who were quarantined in their house probably ran outside and were exposed or exposing others to the coronavirus. God must be super pissed at the Chinese.

I haven't heard of any buildings collapsing or seen any reports to suggest that either.

God will never forgive the Chinese for dining on all of His creation.

Who knew?

just because mexico makes and sells drugs doesn't mean they can't also make and sell other things hazardous to our children for just as cheap as china ya know

by that i mean fentanyl
They have been sending Chinese fentanyl to America for at least 4 years, the more you know. Cheaper than growing opium and processing it to get heroin.
damn I had this happen yesterday, I wanted to impress people with my knowledge of coronavirus thanks to the farms and all I got were weird stares and called a conspiracy theorist, mind you these people were physicians or biomedicine grads who had not done any reading clearly but I felt embarrassed and just wanted to come back home and keep informing myself of this situation. Reminder to myself: keep the sperging for the farms.

Lol anyone else up for taking advantage of the likely massive chink demand for painkillers by selling a shitload of morphine on china's black market at ultra-premium cost?

Lets see if we can add a Third Opium War to the ever growing list of chinese miseries

This is an alarming thought at first, but those 500 deaths/day were gonna happen anyway. And are still happening... and likely rising as so much of the medical care is diverted to the Corona patients.
So the 'bodies piling up in the streets' factor is because, yah it's significantly more than the normal 500/day they are already experiencing. There is an abnormal strain on the system.

You did your best and that's all that matters

Ethiopians are slamming their government for not stopping China flights

With the death toll of Coronavirus now having passed 300, and more than 14,000 infections confirmed, WHO has declared the virus a global health emergency.

With countries including Australia, Japan and the US imposing travel restrictions on those who have recently traveled to the country and over 10,000 flights having been canceled since the outbreak, Ethiopia’s decision to keep operating its flights to and from China, is one that is not sitting well with its citizens.

The Ethiopian government’s assertion that they are prepared to tackle coronavirus as they continue to receive around 1,500 passengers a day into the country from China, is seen as risky as other countries with more robust healthcare infrastructure issue travel restrictions.

In a statement Ethiopian Airlines said it would continue to fly out of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Hong Kong and protect its crew and passengers.

Ethiopians have turned to social media to express their discontent over the issue, with the announcement of continued flights by Ethiopian Airlines, the national carrier, eliciting sentiments that the country is putting business interests ahead of the welfare of its citizens. “You are putting the lives at 100 million people at risk!”, was a typical response to the airline’s statement.

Air traffic between China and Africa has jumped 630% in the last decade with Ethiopian Airlines now operating almost half of the 2,616 annual flights. Chinese customers comprise the airlines’ largest group of customers. As the new gateway to Africa, having overtaken Dubai last year as the leading transfer hub for long-haul travel to sub-Saharan Africa, Addis’s airport has tripled in size and now accommodates up to 22 million passengers annually.

The expansion at the Bole International Airport, was funded and built by China for $363 million lending credence to the opinions that the Ethiopian governments’ decision to keep flying to and from China, might be a case of diplomatic pandering to China.

But Ethiopian Airlines has also had a tough year after the Mar. 10 Boeing 787-Max crash which claimed the lives of 157 people and is likely to have impacted its financial outlook.

When contacted by phone, a representative at the Addis 24 hour help desk of Ethiopian Airlines said “We have not cancelled any China flights.” Quartz reached out to Ethiopian Airlines corporate communications team for an official update but has not had any response at press time.

And as other national carriers in the region including Kenya Airways, Air Tanzania and Rwandair cancel their China flights, the fact the continent’s second most populated country is adopting what appears to be a lax attitude to the coronavirus, will make some worry it might not take long for the continent to get its first confirmed Coronavirus case.

There are a lot of Americans (many military doing patrol work) in Addis. I hope the US slaps some sense into them.

actually public restrooms are typically among the least germ ridden spots simply because unlike all the rest of the public spaces they do typically get hit with disinfectant nightly. Whereas the couch in your doctors waiting room? Not so much.

Come to think of it, with Japan banning the Chinese from entering, this year might be a good time to visit Japan without having to deal with unwashed, loudmouthed, annoying tourists from China.
