What's the context here? I stopped following TFS years ago, probably after the end of the Frieza saga which would have been a little before 2016...

It's TDS isn't it?

Kaiser just gets "tired" and puts things off whenever he gets depressed. I'm sure it's gotten worse with his TDS, which must be so exhausting. He's a micromanager who won't let other people take over the editing for him even though it's much more convenient and would give some people a chance to work with them. They probably would've been in the middle of the Buu saga right now if they had an editing team instead of letting Kaiser have his way.

Is there a specific reason why he wouldn't let other people edit for him? Because that's just plain stupid. It's basically self-defeating.

Gay Pride, I assume, doesn't want people touching his baby as one of the co-founders of TFS. He's not a bad editor whatsoever, he got better as the years went on, but the popularity of the abridged series and that TFS is practically an entity with money at this point means there's no reason to be a one-man team anymore. They've had multiple scriptwriters since the beginning (was just the three of them at first), I don't understand how they couldn't get two or more editors for their little team unless Kaiser's the only one who's had some semblance of professional equipment.

Has there ever been a video or something explaining the behind-the-scenes and how TFS came to be, exactly? Thought I saw something years ago (might've been a spoof) where they showed off one of their productions of an episode.

They had it coming.

I thought they either stayed fairly neutral or were KV but didn’t act like crazy people online about it. Just mentioned it once on Twitter and that was it.

As for it ending, it was close to it anyway. The Buu Saga was gonna be released in chunks anyway, so it’s likely it wasn’t gonna last much longer. Kinda the trouble with as popular as it got, since it is based on an actual IP.

To be fair they handled the vic situation a hell of a lot better than other Kickvic scum. They just brought it up one or two times then dropped it and moved on.

Anyways a bit bummed by this but the cell arc is a pretty good place to leave off since in both the original and abridged it ends on a pretty climactic note

Krillin even managed to reset the counter to zero.

I thought they made this call months ago? Like shortly after they nixed abridging Bojack.

Nah, TFS were always KickVic, they pretty much *had* to be. The only reason they were even allowed to exist up til now was because they sucked Chris Sabat's cock, and so he defended them... I don't actually know what's changed since then though.

I honestly assumed this was the case after they announced they were trying to go legit and become a real dubbing house.

It was bound to happen, they've been working on DBZA for over a decade at this point. They would have to eventually make a change.

Maybe Chris Sabat is finally getting the boot for his making what was essentially a recording of himself masturbating using company assets

Yeah, I can’t really blame them if that’s the case. At least they only mentioned once and moved on instead of dwelling on it forever.

And hey, they’vedone plenty of other stuff. Seems like they’re gonna stick with making animations and voicing those instead, like with the FF7 machinabridged. Or those “anime recap” vids theydid for Jojo and Dragon Prince. Those are fun.

It might be me but I felt the whole channel in general went down:
The abridged series suffered from perfectionism, where new episodes progressively took longer and longer to make due to autistically trying to get every frame right, while also going for some disturbing jokes (like gay pedo relationship between Denden and Gohan) and incorporating shit tier home animation.
The LP's they did got worse as time progressed with a lot of dead air and no banter.
They unceremoniously kicked out hbi2k (be glad if someone knows the story behind it) that completely ruined their DnD campaign as he was the best source of jokes.

That's the only thing I've watch from TeamFourStar.
The "Goku Bad Dad" jokes got stale really fast.

I'm the kind of guy who didn't really care for the Buu saga, so its not that of a loss, besides the lack of finality. Well at least it ended really well in the Cell saga with Krillin finally winning with his Aryanian robo waifu.

Probably for the best, tbh. Abridged Series were novel back in the day and TFS always set the bar for quality, but the novelty is starting to run dry and it's clear they're getting tired of it. It's better for them to quite while they're ahead.

Based on what I know, hbi2k left on his own rather than get kicked out, because he wanted to do his own stuff, but you're not necessarily wrong in that he may've been pressured out. So far, though, there's no evidence of foul play anyone can find.
