In the excitable minds of respected journalists, this very moment white supremacists and gun owners are arming for a new war with the feds, an epic confrontation they’ll call the Boogaloo. Seriously, who believes this stuff?
A normal person might hear the word “boogaloo” and think of the 1984 goofy cult classic ‘Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo’. Or one might recall the sounds of the Latin music genre.
Media elites, however, want you to think of something very different. Boogaloo is now a dangerous, frightening term to stand in for “civil war” used by those all-powerful white nationalists we keep being told are taking over the country.
Leading up to the pro-Second Amendment rally in Richmond, Virginia, talking heads warned that violence could ensue and the “extremist” event could be the first step in the far-right kicking off a supposedly much-desired “civil war.”
One of the points of concern was the use of the word “boogaloo” by YouTubers teaching self defense and warning about government overreach and in online groups like the infamously trolling 4chan.

The Anti-Defamation League warned back in November that the word had been hijacked by white nationalists and should now not be used.
“Many boogaloo references are directed against the ‘alphabet boys’ or ‘alphabet gang’ – federal agencies like the FBI and ATF – which people assume would assist in any gun confiscations,” wrote ADL in their report.
Yes, the Anti-Defamation League is now spending its time informing people about words like boogaloo.
Leading up to the Virginia rally, more outlets began warning people about the word’s supposed dangers, claiming it was a word used by people hoping for a “race war.”
“But it's especially popular among right-wing militias and self-described patriot groups,” NPR reported. “In dozens of YouTube videos, they promise armed rebellion if the government tries to take their guns – a civil war, or Civil War 2: Electric Boogaloo.”
Yes, NPR is now reporting on “Civil War 2: Electric Boogaloo.”Welcome to 2020. Somewhere there are hundreds of trolls laughing at this nonsense.
Bellingcat ran a piece actually warning about extremist groups looking to set off a boogaloo having accomplices within the police force present at the event.
Some rally-goers in Richmond, Virginia, even wore boogaloo merchandise. Spoilers though: the rally was uneventful and did not kick of Civil War 2: Electric Boogaloo.

The merch comes across with the same seeping sarcasm that was inherent to the Pepe the Frog meme we were warned was racist during the 2016 US presidential election.
One only needs to take a quick look at the usage of the term boogaloo online to see how seriously it should actually be taken.

The fear-mongering that exists around the word is about as ridiculous as other troll movements the media has not been able to wrap its head around and clearly learned nothing from.
There’s the OK hand gesture, which is supposed to mean “all good,” but the media tried telling everyone it was a symbol for white power.

The New York Times and other outlets even tried convincing us at one point that alt-right hate groups were chugging milk and that milk was becoming a symbol for alt-right movements. Seriously.
Advocacy groups and media outlets that continually fall for this nonsense devalue themselves. By trying to convince the general public that the OK hand gesture or Pepe the Frog or now the word boogaloo are serious codes in legitimately dangerous fringe movements, these organizations give rise to more troll movements and prove how utterly inept they are at keeping up with modern culture. The more they play into these concepts, the more people will smirk and play right back into their hands.

Everything fun and hip is alt-right? This alt-right sounds so cool! Where do I sign up?

You jest, but, you'd think the Democrats would remember what happened to the Republicans when they got tagged as the "No Fun Party" in the early 80's...... you could argue they didn't recover from that until last year when Trump got his Wall....

Sure they'd held the Presidency, but, when in recent memory has a Republican-led initiative to really make a substantial change to the nation succeeded with great popular support?

Bush and Bush II's biggest lasting legislative legacies were moral panic and war-related bills that either got picked apart by the courts or were welcomed by the other side because it consolidated Federal power.

Bush II was an extreme letdown as the R faithful came out and managed what was an upset against the media-polished promise of "8 more years of Clinton!" (via Gore) in the hopes that we'd get away from political correctness, away from reckless globalization and lopsided "free trade" deals causing US industry to be shipped overseas by the boxcar-load, away from all the proto-IDpol movements setting up shop inside Government.... and maybe something, ANYTHING, about bloated welfare spending and the illegal immigration problems.

And while 9/11 played a big part in derailing things and our expectations of what needed to happen, Bush II didn't bring anything, he was an empty suit. He kept the globalization, kept the political correctness, kept the bloated and corrupt institutions humming, kept everything the same except sprinkling a little "Jesus n' Shucks" spice around and thinking that was fair compensation for everything the middle class average voter who was beginning to feel the recession and squeeze had pinned their hopes on with him.

He threw us one bone, ONE, and it wasn't even economic, it was "no gay marriage" and thought he deserved a parade for it..... that's really when I gave up on Republicans.

Yelling about the economy, and you come back with moral protectionism cribbed from the Bible? How's that gonna put food on my plate? (Keep heed, Democrats, when we asked again for economic help and you said "Stop being racist and love your diverse neighbors more" , what happened? Hummmm? Starts with a "T".... )

It soured me so much, I haven't gone to a poll in 19 years.... but I WILL go this year. Because I finally have someone I have faith in, not through flowery promises, but actual accomplishment, for the first time in a long time, for the first time in my ADULT LIFE.

I can't think of anything from second-term Reagan to 2019 that a Republican President has done that was met with "Bout time" from the general public not just conservatives....

And that should scare the Democrats more than anything, they're losing the common man and getting a reputation as a overbearing moral sticks-in-the-mud who will do what they FEEL is right over what can be proven as right. Because even as the winds are changing, they're still treating this rise of nationalistic populism as some kind of odd dance craze or new soda flavor that will run it's course by 2020.. not that this is what a fed up populace looks like right before revolution.... and saying "Oh hush you rednecks, you think you have it bad? TROONS and the WAHMEN have it worse! You need to be more caring and progressive, like us and go see some Hollywoke movies so you can learn how to behave" is the absolute WRONG thing to be saying.

It's literally a reference to this shit

"I want your babies" is alt right code for the new Hitler youth. You heard it here first, folks.

tl;dr every fucking slang word is a product of the far-right.
The far-right or "alt-right" (and really, I'm just repeating myself) are apparently this collective of mystics and deities that are both essentially all-powerful and completely powerless. They are able to warp the internet, human minds, reality, and geopolitical relationships to their own ends, yet are still just fat gamer incel losers and rednecks from flyover country.

Anytime anyone starts talking to me and brings up boogaloos, I automatically assume they are a fed.

Kind of reminds me of how all the white power folks talk about DA JOOZ as inferior and evil, and yet DA JOOZ control everything in the world at the same time.

This whole kerfuffle is no different.

can we convince the adl that "nice" is a secret nazi word that means "niggers cease"?

I think we can go one better than that - let's tell everyone that "John Oliver" is now code for "Adolf Hitler" and watch the ensuing chaos.

I don't understand how this was a code. I thought it was just a running joke slang term for a hypothetical new armed conflict within the USA similar to the war between the states in the 1800s.
Is there a hit piece on "N00B - A SECRET CODE TO TELL YOU THAT YOU'RE NEW" next?

Russians have it so easy. Their mainstream media is all run by the government, forced to cover only what gets approval by their leaders. I wouldn't hold much stock what their media propaganda thinks about an actual free country and its freedom of the press. Yeah it allows some wacky ideas, that's the trade off.

Besides, everybody knows the boogaloo will be fought with biological weapons, rather than small arms. At least out Avis are safe lol. But seriously WTF are they thinking, if they get mad as hell at a God damn cartoon frog, then how do they expect to win a second civil war?

Oh wait that's right, they're gonna give themselves HIV and then rape us.

It's a pretty shitty code if the god damned Anti-Defamation League were the first ones to 'crack' it.

It's striking, really, that every time I read an article or commentary about this 'Brave New World' of subversive language and behavior, I can't help but be reminded of the McCarthy era. There are just so many alt-right Nazis from space waiting in the wings and creeping in dark alleys all around you, preparing to re-enact Jim Crow laws and demolish Roe v. Wade. How can you NOT be terrified?

Really it's like the hardcore leftists just wait around for the Anti-Defamation League, Huffpost, NYT and various other outlets to update their firmware or some shit. Thereafter they are able to detect the word 'boogaloo' and the Nazis discussing it. Then predictably they will spout: "Boogaloo bad, Nazi incel talk about boogaloo, don't forget, ORANGE MAN BAD."

Yet not a single fucking utterance, not a word about the masses of people who want to plunge the world into darkness by pushing the very same failed ideology that killed at least a hundred million throughout the 20th century. Their war cry? "BUT REAL COMMUNISM HASN'T EVEN BEEN TRIED MAN!"

To get down to the brass tacks, I've seen very, very few unironic, legitimate Nazis and I've been in a lot of places where they supposedly fester and flourish in dark, dank holes. You know what I have seen? A fuckton of Communists crawling out of the woodwork. Not necessarily crawling out of the woodwork, though, rather, your local college campus. People come out of these institutions brainwashed to spout off bullshit and to ignore their own interests. But not a god damned word about them.
