Fair, I guess I just have some trouble getting into the headspace of someone who really believes that a sign on a bathroom door is what decides their True And Honest gender. It’s just so fucking exceptional.

I don’t actually know enough about the laws surrounding informed consent, I think a few pages back either here or in the parents of transgender kids (or maybe even the jazz Jennings general? God I’m on the farms too much) were talking about it, and mentioned that with informed consent doctors aren’t required to list out every side effect, only ones that are relative to the immediate health and well-being of the patient. The assumption is that the patient will have done their due dilligance and researched the prescription themselves. Still, the average person isn’t the kind of autist that you or I seem to be, that reads through the prescription info packet on every medication. They hear their doctor wave them through with permission and just trust that all’s well.
