A transgender girl accused of assaulting two students at a Texas high school alleges that she was being bullied and was merely fighting back

Shocking video shows a student identified by police as Travez Perry violently punching, kicking and stomping on a girl in the hallway of Tomball High School.

The female student was transported to the hospital along with a male student, whom Perry allegedly kicked in the face and knocked unconscious.

According to the police report, Perry - who goes by 'Millie' - told officers that the victim has been bullying her and had posted a photo of her on social media with a negative comment.

One Tomball High School parent whose daughter knows Perry said that the 18-year-old had been the target of a death threat.

'From what my daughter has said that the girl that was the bully had posted a picture of Millie saying people like this should die,' the mother, who asked not to be identified by name, told DailyMail.com.

When Perry appeared in court on assault charges, her attorney told a judge that the teen has been undergoing a difficult transition from male to female and that: 'There's more to this story than meets the eye.'

Perry is currently out on bond, according to authorities.

The video of the altercation sparked a widespread debate on social media as some claim Perry was justified in standing up to her alleged bullies and others condemn her use of violence.

The mother who spoke with DailyMail.com has been one of Millie's most ardent defenders on Facebook.

'I do not condone violence at all. But situations like this show that people now a days, not just kids, think they can post what they want. Or say what they want without thinking of who they are hurting,' she said.

'Nobody knows what Millie has gone through, and this could have just been a final straw for her. That is all speculation of course because I don't personally know her or her family, but as a parent and someone who is part of the LGBTQ community this girl needs help and support, not grown men online talking about her private parts and shaming and mocking her.'

One Facebook commenter summed up the views of many, writing: 'This was brutal, and severe! I was bullied for years and never attacked anyone!'

Multiple commenters rejected the gender transition defense and classified the attack as a male senselessly beating a female.

One woman wrote on Facebook: 'This person will get off because they're transitioning. This is an animal. She kicked, and stomped, and beat...not okay. Bullying is not acceptable, but kicking someone in the head. Punishment doesn't fit the crime.'

Also worth noting that since the 60s, older/straight MTFs started outweighing younger/homo ones; and until very recently the vast majority of FTMs were originallt lesbians with near zero "gay transmen". In short the demographics of who is transitioning has vastly changed.

I agree that age is playing a big part of it though - way more under 25 FTMs, way more over 40 MtFs.

True. FTMs were sort of unknown for a long time. I'm under the impression the ones who showed up to the doc were actually already living secretly as men, basically -- very butch, they were already passing. So perhaps they weren't as involved with the lesbian culture in general (though some were, like Leslie Feinberg).

From what I've seen with this uptick of FTMs, there are two kinds: masculine lesbians encouraged to transition, and fujoshis of unknown sexuality who want to be cool gay men. I'm not sure which outnumbers the other though, because the trans lobby doesn't allow us to talk about the fact that there's different categories of trans-identified people.

Just a note, that pedo story from the Metro is referring to an Iowa case here in the US. The offender is Joseph Matthew Smith, now going by Josie. And no, none of the experts cited in this article can back up the claim that lowering this guy’s T levels will somehow reduce his chances of reoffending, though it sounds like they are hobbled by certain parameters when it comes to proving recidivism.

A preliminary report prepared by the state’s expert, Dr. Jeffrey Davis, says Smith molested as many as 15 victims, ranging from ages 1 to 13, before being sentenced to prison in December 2015.

The report found the likelihood of re-offending within five years of release exceeded 20% because victims were of both genders, and because Smith was under age 25 and never had a long-term relationship.

It's about time a court has acknowledged that it has no authority to force people to admit something that very well may be the subject matter of the lawsuit itself, by saying something they don't believe, or believe to be an outright lie, against their will. It's like requiring a defense lawyer to refer to his client as "the murderer John Smith" because the prosecution says so, or alternately, to require the prosecutor to refer to the defendant as "the innocent man I am falsely prosecuting" because the defendant identifies as innocent.
