Hot take: I have no strong opinion on this reveal one way or the other and I get that Sakurai has a bit of a reputation of being a troll, but...I think he might have gone a bit too far with the trolling this time. Of course, it's all in the timing--he's pretty much left all of us hanging after it with nothing else to look forward to, and that might be part of why people are so pissed off. I guess the fact that we knew another pass was coming was enough to justify it, but even Corrin during the Smash 4 era was followed by Bayonetta. Ah well. 🤷

I'm sure Byleth will be a lot of fun to play as by the time the new DLC drops, though. We're only two weeks away.
 
I think Im more irked that the pass wasn't entirely 3rd party and they couldn't have saved Byleth for Vol. 2. They were inevitable anyway. But we did get Banjo, Terry and 6 more DLC fighters, so I'll take this monkey's paw condition and just wait for the next reveal

I really thought he was going to tease one more fighter at the end, I didn't think he was going to be this much of a scumbag about it, especially because the last reveal was Terry allll the way back in September. It sounds autistic as hell but this feels malicious on some level.

That's how I feel about it.

Like a FE character was gonna happen, I think the timing for it is what got people so pissed. This pack was legendary and closing it with the safest Nintendo pick is just a lukewarm feeling.

Like it can only get better from here, and with 6 characters over 5 there's going to be more chances to wow us with new crossovers.
 
Tbh im more dissapointed that we didnt get a nintendo direct because smashretard need 30 minutes of sakurai telling them to go fuck themselves

Sakurai was absolutely taking the piss here, there's no other way to interpret this. And what makes it worse is there's no way you can tell me Byleth being the last of the pass wasn't a calculated move. They knew damn well people would be up the wall about this but by the time we've found out, most have already bought the pass so no take backsies suckers.

That said I can't even be bothered to muster the energy for raw anger, just complete and utter disappointment. At the end of the day, I got my Ridley, I got my K. Rool, I got my Banjo, and there's a whopping 6 more characters on the horizon. As long as we don't get that overprivileged fire shitrabbit, it can only go up from here.
 
time to buy three houses and smash. Not that I particularly am a huge FE fag but more because I only got a switch recently.
 
I'm not disappointed at all. It's not Crash but I really enjoyed Three Houses so I'm actually quite happy. Even better is that since it's a Fiya Embull character, you KNOW everyone is gonna be salty AF

Suck it leakers and smashfags!!!!
