The plot: the Teen Titans are pissed at the direction the new reboot of their favorite cartoon is going, and so they decide to take it off the air...

Out of most of this lack luster stuff, Infinity Train seems the least painful.
 
I know this is highly optimistic, but I think we may be gearing up for the final years of "Cal Arts" cartoons in the 2020's, particularly if this Thundercats reboot bombs badly enough.

Steven Universe is nearing its end (assuming it hasn't ended already), Adventure Time is long gone and Teen Titans Go is a punchline that gets marathon runs solely because it does well with its target demographic and that's the key here...since Adventure Time died out, the one "Cal Arts" show that is doing well with its intended demographic is Teen Titans Go.

Steven Universe was popular for a while but has basically become the dangerhair equivalent of Rick & Morty in terms of how awful its fanbase is and actual children don't watch it.

IIRC, Gravity Falls ended a while back and I have no fucking idea how the She-Ra reboot on Netflix is doing, but I think that if this Thundercats reboot flops, it might kill the "Cal Arts" cartoon fad for a while. Especially now that Cartoon Network is under new management and Christina Miller is no longer in charge.

I don't know what will replace it as the new trend, but something will. Personally, I'd love to see action cartoons make a proper comeback, but sadly I don't think it's likely.

Cartoon Network has never treated action cartoons outside of their DC stuff with proper respect.

Samurai Jack, Megas XLR, Symbiotic Titan, Beware the Batman...all got screwed one or another with this channel. If it ain't anime, its probably not long for this world if Cartoon Network is producing it.
 
The real thing that will happen is that "CalArts style" will change its meaning again, or go back to the way John K. originally used it - as a cudgel against anything you don't like.

Thundercats Roar is on the Cartoon Network App. it's release is like a cat going into hiding because it wants to die.
 
I think Kneon, one of the hosts from Clownfish TV, is having a stroke after watching Thundercats Roar. Then again, just looking at the stills, I kinda don't blame him.
 
Watched the two episodes leaked on the app. It was the unfunniest, most poorly-animated thing I've ever seen. No surprise there. It actually really reminds me of the failed Bubsy cartoon in that it's desperate to get the audience laughing without actually doing anything besides being loud and annoying.

The manbun creator 100000% lied about being a fan of the original show. There's no love in this lackluster juvenile garbage. I don't see it lasting very long.

Including the reaction. Did we learn nothing from the TTG hatedom?

Considering it's on the app, I doubt it'll get past the intial order of episodes, however many that was.

But that's only assuming they don't just shunt it off to Boomerang or ditch it harder to the point these are the only episodes. I won't lie, this is a waste of a semi-decent cast of voice actors in a series that's a complete garbage fire and should have had its creator blacklisted.
 
We need to be real about TTG hatred on some level--it's a massive middle finger to fans of the original show and it deserves flack for being the heartless shitstorm it is.

But even then, it's still not as awful as this.
