But then instead of blaming Billybob, everyone gets mad at Cletus for making him mad enough to burn down his own truck.

Maybe Eugene's just a racist and assumes that any sort of provocation towards someone of Middle Eastern descent is guaranteed to only result in violence because it's the only thing that they're capable of and they're not able to resort to any other type of response. The Iranians were perfectly capable of just ignoring this or responding in a plethora of other ways, but they responded violently.

Maybe Eugene just thinks that's all that they can do.

More seriously, if you know that a certain action will cause an unstable regime to throw a tard-rage and do it anyway you should probably take some of the credit/blame for said tard-rage. To be a bit fair, this is probably not TDS. A pardon does not make the conviction never happen, it wipes away the penalty for it. The Lt. General's hands may be tied in that ever being convicted makes it to where he can't give it back. Hence him bumping it up to an ADMINISTRATIVE panel which has the ability to ignore such technicalities.

They're just trying to box Trump in like Reagan regarding the Contras so that they might have a better excuse to press more impeachment charges against him later (or again if he wins re-election which I presume should legally wipe the impeachment stain clear).
