Some of this can be explained such as Danganronpa being awful because it gained popularity due to homestuck crowd getting into it.
but then you have the flavor of the month stuff that spreads from ftom to ftom, shonen anime always get this, any manga with two close female friends get this pretty bad such as Dungeon meshi.

It's the fandoms that attract teenagers (or adults who never matured past teenage years), particularly teenage girls (or boys that want to pretend to be girls, or gay boys who spent all of high school spending time with girls anyway) that get this kind of art most of the time. Go look at the bios of these artists, I guarantee they're between the ages of 16 and 25. Game of Thrones is geared towards adults, Disney fandom is mostly children or people who grew up fairly normally, MCU is aimed at adults and young children, Bojack Horseman is for depressed adults. There are certainly handfuls of SJW fanart for those kinds of fandoms, but it gets overshadowed by fandoms like Danganronpa and Demon Slayer.
