This really is just a replay of Syria 2017 isn't it. Trump uses any military force at all and we're subjected to the screeching of alt right chicken littles.
I don't believe for a second that we're going to war in Iran. I've seen this song and dance too many times over the past three years to think that. When the left revealed its new wave Russophobia and demanded we start a war with Russia and take out Putin, what did Trump do? Hold a press conference with him instead. When world leaders and the media were demanding Trump start a war in Syria and depose Assad, what did he do? Some limited air strikes and then later withdrew the remaining troops as the warmongers wailed and cried. When North Korea was at the height of its belligerence and even sending ballistic missiles over Japan, what Trump did do? He talked a big game and made threats, but then opened peace talks, had multiple meetings with Kim, and we got a historic handshake at the DMZ. Every single time he has been given a choice he has chosen diplomacy over war. The people who assured us Trump would be a dangerous warmonger if elected became the ones calling for war at every turn. Why am I expected to just ignore all this and rebuy into the narrative that Trump is going to get us nuked or start WWIII? Is simple pattern recognition really this difficult for people?
You know what I think is going to happen? Despite any further theatrics in Iran, we open peace talks and within a year we get Trump shaking hands with Iranian leadership at a summit. He'll probably want to get this done before the election, because it will help him massively.
Fuck the defeatists and doomers. Spencer and other alt-right figures like to generate noise and get people stirred up to sell them on the ideology and products they peddle. 2016: Trump rocks!
