I think these labels often fall into the TMI category. I get the straight/gay/bi thing because if people want to play matchmaker, they need to know your area of interest. And lots of people love to try to set other people up on dates. I get that. Beyond that, I don't need to know every single thing you like to do in the bedroom or every characteristic you prefer. Just a general category is fine.

That's what's wild to me. Isn't sexual identification supposed to be based on observing how oneself is attracted to men, women, or both? People think identification means declaration of how they want things to be rather than an identification of how things are.
