Manufacturing QA can be a very rigorous job and supervisory positions may require a 4-year engineering degree.

Pep doesn't look like engineering degree material. Where I am at its an hourly job like almost every other job in the kitchen. Albeit one that requires specialized training. It's actually a pretty good deal, very good money for those that can cut it without the crippling debt of a 4 year degree. Only people they get with degrees is managers. They pluck STEM majors out of college a dozen at a time to come in and essentially manage their grandparents. You can imagine how well that works out. Sometimes you get a diamond out of the lot but usually they are just cannon fodder.

It's my understanding you don't need a reason to get rid of someone in Freedomland, can't they just say "fuck off, go home, you don't work here anymore" when she turns up to work one morning?

Varies from state to state. Some states are right to work(meaning they can easily fire, which makes it easier to get hired), and some are not. Now there is a misconception of people thinking they can fire for ANY reason since there is the equal opportunity act and you are not allowed to defame someone publicly when you fire them(looking at you funimation). You can fire them for no real reason and they do not have to provide one(though it is better they do). A good generic response is that you were not a fit for the company or they can claim they were doing some cut backs.

Even so, most companies I have worked for in right to work state, even during the recession, are not just quick to the trigger to fire because there is training cost, potential disgruntled employees trying to find a reason to sue, potential public backlash, and other factors.

edit: thanks to @5t3n0g0ph3r for reposting the dox. She is not currently in a right to work state so it can be harder to fire her and they will need a good reason.

So, due to my #KickVic stance, my Twitter was harassed until it was disabled. Haha! #NotEvenMad That certainly proves my point that you #IStandWithVic Stans are absolute garbage. But here is the hilarious tale, in a summery.
@dominique_skye was joking with mutual friends on Twitter that she and I put the Fun in the Funimation HR Department, and that THIS photo sums up the case-file of our internal investigation on Vic. This is clearly a joke because Dominique and I both have our separate careers listed, and live in different states, and clearly do NOT work for Funimation. And THESE VIC STANS TOOK HER SERIOUSLY! So now we have dozens of tweets popping off about how clearly biased the investigation that lead to his termination was. I kid you not, these Stans think Dominique and I were the deciding factor of Vic’s termination with Funimation! And they CAME for my account in the middle of the night. While I was sleeping, they reported my account and tweets, and I woke up to an email received at 3:20am telling my my account is suspended. Imagine my half-asleep-dazed-confusion of...what? Lol. Dominique filled me in, in the morning, with screengrabs of all the nonsense.
So the summery is, the supporters of Vic are SO STUPID and will believe ANYTHING that fits their narrative, that they attacked and had the twitter taken down of a random woman from New York who works as Quality Assurance in a Candy Factory, because her stance on the #KickVic situation didn’t mesh with the imaginary scenario they subscribe to. 😂😂
So here is my statement: I do not, nor have I ever, work for @funimation . And I had nothing to do with#vicmignogna getting fired from any company or convention appearance. I am firmly on the side of #KickVic because I have met him and he is awful.
I stand with @jamiemarchi and @rialisms and all the other victims and people (many who DO work with and for Funimation) who have spoken out and faced harassment.
The temporary deactivation of my Twitter is why victims don’t come forward, and why witnesses don’t speak out. You all don’t want the truth. You want Vic to do whatever he wants so long as you get your entertainment and it’s not YOU who are hurt.

That's why every year a competent business (also looking at funimation) will give their employees a code of conduct booklet (and make the employee sign a form that says they received it and understood it) which spells out clearly workplace expectations and consequences for violating those expectations. As long as you document an employee's performance issues and have well defined policies that are applied uniformly, it's not that hard.

not trying to power level but that's exactly the vibe she gives me from my time in management. she reminds me wayyyyy too much of the kind of folk that will micromanage their hours to work as little as possible and then claim discrimination when their numbers drop in line with their work.......start drama with anyone and everyone and then file HR reports when people tell them off. And if they're LBGTOMGWTFLOL or even claim to be, they can't be fired unless there's direct provable cause. I pity whoever has to deal with her mess.
