I'm going to be honest I mostly like mauler and there has only been 1 efap that I hat to nope the fuck out of that that was the one with the Spiderman homecoming debate it shit me how his autism could not grasp the fact people were saying it's a good movie but doesn't portray Spider-Man as these in the majority of the comics
however since the last efap of Jenny Nicholson he seems like he's hiding from something it's been two weeks for that one is his scared?
If Mauler and his goons just wanted to make a legitimate response to Jenny's video, why is it 22 times longer than her review? They didn't care about making a point. They just wanted to make fun of her for having a different opinion. One thing I never understood about Mauler and his fans is how they use "LONG MAN BAD" as a strawman to avoid actual criticism. They're completely incapable of understanding why someone might not be interested in watching an 11 hour response to a 34 minute video. It's absolutely crazy.
"Uhh ackchyually its only 5 hours out of the 11 hour response"
How the fuck are you supposed to know if it's only 5 hours that addresses the video unless you watch the entire thing? In which case, the response is effectively 11 hours long. There aren't any timestamps listed, how are you supposed to know when they're talking about Jenny's video as opposed to when they go on a tangent or one of them leaves to empty their soiled fursuit?
Oh god, of course the guy who was defending Mauler's honor from random people who dared say that combing through the 11 hour podcast for ONLY (sarcasm) 3-4 hours of critique was absurd and was used as an example as one of the "good" content creators because he went on to the podcast and "saw the light" because he found actual critiques of his videos buried under the mounds of shit, was on the very next EFAP podcast.
If they wanted to make a legitimate response to any of the videos they talked about they'd actually edit the damn things and make them their own videos or at the very least do the bare fucking minimum of using timestamps but they don't because they're typical pseudo intellectuals that have discovered that people can't criticize you if you make your content a worthless time sink.If Mauler and his goons just wanted to make a legitimate response to Jenny's video, why is it 22 times longer than her review? EFAPs aren't really response videos so much as they're comedic podcasts. They just use them to pick videos apart in unusually lengthy detail, based on how funny or objectionable each statement is, and call it a response. The rest of the time is allotted to memes and superchats. The actual response to Jenny's video was like 3 hours, and that was with them going off on tangents because her video is mostly boring.
Somebody cut out the 3 hour response after the fact & MauLer linked to it from the EFAP 59 video description:
Why would they do that when they could just outsource their editing to one of their pathetic orbiters? If they wanted to make a legitimate response to any of the videos they talked about they'd actually edit the damn things and make them their own videos or at the very least do the bare fucking minimum of using timestamps but they don't because they're typical pseudo intellectuals that have discovered that people can't criticize you if you make your content a worthless time sink.
That's the problem. It's titled as a response, but the way the show is formatted means that the only way to respond back is to a) point and laugh, b) appear on a subsequent episode, or c) waste an enormous amount of time making a detailed response to the 'criticism'. It's completely reasonable for Jenny to take the first option, regardless of the quality of her video. If you won't put in the effort to make a proper response, you can't get upset when people laugh at you and tell you to fuck off.EFAPs aren't really response videos so much as they're comedic podcasts. Mauler will be on his death bed and he'd still be complaining about Star Wars going downhill.Based on EFAP 59, I'm under the impression that they'd welcome her if she wanted on, but had no expectation that she would (or should). I don't know, I don't keep up with them on Twitter. I do know they have their own videos they're working on, so they're definitely going to save everything else for EFAP since it's a good thing they have going on: a massive shitposting / circlejerking podcast that 4-5k people tune into. I normally don't disagree with them anyways, but for the most part I listen because it tends to be hilarious & helps pass the time working and commuting.
I'm looking forward to the next 40 EFAPs talking about the end of Star Wars, I can tell you that for free.
Same goes for MovieBob, he knows who they are and that they would gladly have him on EFAP butBased on EFAP 59, I'm under the impression that they'd welcome her if she wanted on, but had no expectation that she would (or should).
If this is true then why are they structured like his actual critiques and why are they treated as actual serious critiques by his fans?
It's almost like timestamps are important and should be given especially if you're going to shove critiques in the middle of your podcast or something. The only reason they did this was because people made fun of Mauler on Twitter though and I doubt any of them learned anything from this and they'll still expect people to trawl through future podcasts for relevant information.
If the video he's tearing apart is boring then why would he spend 3 HOURS going over every single sentence when she's at worst indifferent to the cape movie he's willing to die on a hill for?
Why would he waste his time on a video he doesn't even think is interesting when I'm sure there are more entertaining videos to watch that hate the movie more. Is he actually incapable of distinguishing from a real review and a general opinion piece?
What do you mean? It's an unscripted podcast with guests. How is it structured like an actual critique, and how do you know that's how his fans treat it?
I'm starting to think you're misrepresenting what happened. I'm an hour into EFAP 60 now and they're just laughing at people's bizarre whiteknighting tweets. And wasn't it a beta orbiter that did it and not them? It's not like they've ever felt the need to do it before, so why would they think to start now?
Put another way, this is podcast #60. Jenny's not the first person to get roasted for hours on this show. What makes this episode so special?
As an aside, most of the time the ones posting timestamps for long livestreams/podcasts are the listeners themselves who post a comment with said timestamps after the video is archived on the channel. It's uncommon for the streamers or casters themselves to post meticulous timestamps, as helpful as they are. Most of them just stream, then go to bed and go back to their job or making more videos, not listening to their own streams again to make timestamps.
You're misrepresenting him again. He didn't think Jenny's video was going to be boring from the outset, that's why he bothered with it in the first place. He even had plans to do Moviebob on the second half of the stream, but the Jenny video took so long and ended up being so mind-numbingly tiresome that they veered off on a Terminator tangent with Angry Joe and Jeb memes. If anything, the one valid criticism I can agree to is he named the video wrong, and he's usually good about comprehensive EFAP names.
Mate she is not going to touch your penis no matter how many paragraphs do you writeBy watching the video and pausing every line or so to interject, I've watched his actual critiques before and they're pretty much the same. I know his fans are like this because I'm in discords with a couple of them and they'll say that he and whoever he had on with him did "such a good critique/breakdown of this video" and then link the podcast, and tell you to skim it until you get to the relevant parts.
I only looked at the Twitter posts and I saw a few people asking why anyone didn't just make an excerpt of the relevant critique parts because someone asked Jenny and she said she had some interest in watching the critique but she didn't want to parse through the podcast for it and then with what you said about a fan doing exactly that after the twitter thread I tried to make a joke that it was because EFAP fans were trying to defend Mauler's honor because of all the people making fun of him. My bad.
I'm honestly not sure why Jenny is the cause for so much sudden pushback, it's not like she was the only lady ever to be featured on his podcast before and they've been way meaner to other people too so it is pretty strange that suddenly people are not okay with it when Jenny herself doesn't really care.
I didn't think she was that popular of a youtuber and she basically just made a dismissive post about it on Twitter because the title was misleading and it seemed very silly, she didn't even make as big a deal about it as Joseph Anderson or MovieBob did and Linkara didn't even pay attention to anything about what was happening at all and still overreacted but maybe that's because she didn't even know who made the video.
Aside from the male feminists complaining maybe it's because she has a broad general audience of people who have never heard of EFAP and their weirdly petty and unprofessional attitudes were too unappealing to some and everyone else who was aware of Mauler are just getting tired of him in general.
It could also be me being wrong and she actually is a really popular content creator and for some reason this time people who aren't involved somehow are able to see the autistic whiteknight slapfights because both creators are popular enough.
But I think it could mainly be because of the title and thumbnail alone making Mauler + friends look a little more absurd than usual and more people than average took notice and decided to give it a listen to see why or how it took them 11 hours to make a response video and weren't impressed.
I know you're right, but I also hate it when podcasts are released with no timestamps with every fiber of my being. I appreciate when fans do it but it takes a while because they have to listen first while the person recording it could have written the topics and times down as they were recording, but that's just me being spoiled by the podcasts that do it themselves.
It's more understandable with Mauler's because they're obscenely long but I cannot help but be annoyed with it especially when people keep sending me the podcasts even after I've made it clear I don't want them.
It's okay, you can just say I'm wrong. I keep forgetting that he doesn't usually watch videos before picking them apart. That might be another reason why I can't get into his content, the other podcasts I follow are either focused on one video or several videos/topics but they both read the articles and watch the videos or at least give it a cursory glance before putting stuff out, it's common for them to take notes so they don't forget stuff while talking about it.
This is just another opinion but I think if you watch videos to make fun of on a stream and it's not something you're interested in or it's taking too long and you and your guests are bored and the stream audience is bored, it's okay to just stop and move on to something else.
MovieBob's videos are longer with more content to sit through so I feel like Mauler could drag one of his out for more than 4 hours. I'm surprised he didn't do Bob's first just to get it out of the way because it seems more like something his audience would want and he'd have more to say about it.
I wanted to know Poe-Shen's thoughts about why #59 blew up when none of the others did and if he thinks that people are going to care as much in the future but thanks for shutting down the conversation so we can go back to occasionally posting videos that nobody but people who like Mauler are going to watch. Why can't he just have constant Twitter drama like every other Youtuber.Mate she is not going to touch your penis no matter how many paragraphs do you write
From his fans in this thread they seem to just use it as white noise.Do people genuinely watch the entire thing? Most of the time I just join in while they are discussing things on a tangent 20 minutes at a time. Like the stream is mostly filler, I feel like even the edited version isnt fully cut down at 11 hours to 3 hours. Most streams basically repeats this process
Meh, both have their faults.Schaffrillas Productions > Mauler
