Oh, this is typical. When things aren't interesting this usually happens. IMO onision isn't that interesting right now, the Hansen thing is happening and he's freaking out sure but I think at this point everyone's actually focusing on his victims and not him. Onision isn't doing a whole lot, just trying to ego boost himself, Lainey is laying low, the only thing for us right now is to wait for Hansen's weekly interview and watch him freak out during and directly after.

Insanity is very hard to claim because your actions have to be proven to be irrational/delusional, and incapable of being motivated by logical self-interest or spite (both of which indicate premeditation/motive). Greg is deeply transparent in his motivations, and also stupid enough to have left a digital paper trail a mile long that can be used to disprove this defence. Even if he gets diagnosed as mentally ill/mentally disabled, he will still be liable for his actions, the courts jail nutcases all the time.

His constant obsession with researching and being on the right side of the law is one of the easiest ways to prove that he is working with premeditation, but there are many others.

I don't know if the same rules apply in the states as in here, but I assume it's similar. To be declared legally insane here you have to have been psychotic WHEN the crime happened. (Psychosis = detatched from reality through different symptoms. Many people have the wrong impression of what it is and thinks it's split personality disorder or uses it as a synonym for psychopathic.) Point is, all of this happened over a long period of time, and if he had been psychotic and unmedicated for so long, I think it would've been obvious in other ways. Plus, being a pedo isn't a symptom of psychosis. Plus, like mentioned, his motives are pretty fucking obvious. No way is he psychotic (per the actual definition), and no way is any court gonna declear him legally insane and unfit to serve time in jail. Wouldn't happen in a million years.

He's also shown awareness that he's committing a crime, the intent to cover it up. That's usually a telltale part of insanity pleas.

My guess would be a mix of Narcissistic Personality Disorder and perhaps borderline Psychopath, or he at least has a bunch of psychopathic traits. The narcissism is obvious, especially in the *uhum* "books" he has written. One of them is basically a self insert of himself as a god-character that literally kills God, and that can "rewrite the code of the universe". Either that is a symptom of extreme narcissism or it shows that he has a very poor self image and struggles with an inferiority complex. Other themes in his writings include him or "The Character", having copious amounts of sex, and being extremely confident, good at fighting, dealing out what he perceives as "Just punishment". Then another point is that he refuses to use an editor, or an actual publisher. He wont use an editor because he can't take criticism, and he wont try to get published like a real author because he knows he won't pass the bar unless he gets published with some fuckin' hipster publisher that doesn't like money. Not being able to get published would shatter his self-made delusion that he is a competent writer not an egotistical fuckwad.
Other things that could prove his low self-esteem / inferiority complex is the need to over saturate the shit out of his face to appear younger, and hide his fucking fucked up skin. He also appears to have low impulse control because he constantly has a need to buy shit he can't afford, and do things without thinking, such as the incident with his wetland debacle. It could be that he is just living in that much of a bubble that he thinks he can do whatever he wants because it's "his property", but far more likely it's because he hasn't done a single day of actual work in his life, so he has no experience with zoning laws, eco system protection, or permits.

The thing about psychopaths is that they have a congenital mutation of the nervous system that causes their fight or flight reflexes to not activate as intended. Thus, they don't feel fear the same way normal people do, so consequences and empathy are out the window. And they don't break when you pressure them. Sociopaths are much the same, but it's a developed condition, due to extreme conditions early in life.

That's clearly not Onision. Grugly sweats. He squirms. He throws tantrums and loses his goddamn mind every time he's about to be exposed. He derives a sick pleasure in hurting people when he has nothing to gain. It's more likely that Grung has some combination of cluster-B disorders, and I'd say most likely BPD and NPD (which has a rate of comorbidity between 16% and 39%) or "BPD with narcissistic traits" which is an extremely common presentation of BPD in males.

Yes this works differently than many people think.

An "insanity plea", or Incompetent to Stand Trial (IST), is a very specific designation. I am not sure how the designation process works, but like many things in the criminal justice system, all one really has to do is convince a judge they are IST. It means you are essentially unable to understand your charges. This is typically due to severe mental illness or exceptionalism.

If you are considered so, you are often sent to jail first, and then to a psychiatric facility when a bed is open based on the level of your crime. Unless grog went really wild in the court room, given his first time offender status and what he would be charged with, he would likely be sent to a minimum facility, which is essentially a minimum security prison mixed with a hospital.

There are many swanky aspects about these facilities - much better medical care, more compassionate staff, lower population, usually less violence (if just because most of them are male/female mixed). However, while you are IST, you are considered a ward of the state. You have no rights and you are forced to take whatever medications and therapies the state doctors say you do. And you know that homeless PTSD riddled veteran that hangs outside of the grocery store and seems like he gonna dock someone at anytime? That really annoying autistic girl that is making a constant annoying scream at McDonald's? Well they are both in a 20 bed ward with you and you are going to have to interact with them at all times.
