I'm not american but I've seen a bunch of people from high school get into the military and it's usually the same story.

First Facebook posts about job hopping and being unable to maintain employment for whatever reason (usually due to their own stupidity.)

Then comes the posts about financial issues, followed by the "my life is so shit!" Suicide baiting.

Suddenly, boom. Theyve joined the military! They're jovial and can't stop talking about how they're going to be the best sniper this side of the hemisphere has ever seen! They just can't wait to go COD and go kill some damn towel heads! Woohoooo!

Then they either kill themselves, get discharged or just disappear in general. Probably Troon out or something once they realize that pretending to be a hypermasculine killing machine doesn't actually hide their failures

Well, nah. I waived people with a single-digit ASVAB score during the Iraq War. If you can hold an M4 and shoot straight you good. Psych testing was not really done.

Standards got tighter but they were letting anyone fucking in at one point.

Yeah, I don't think longevity has a whole lot to do with relevance. I mean, look at Soaps; Days of Our Lives, General Hospital etc., have been on the air for 50+ years? One of them stretches all the way back to radio drama days of yore.

I don't think any soap opera has ever been relevant to anything. Come to think of it, I wonder why you never hear troons swooning over them? I mean, one of them even has a tranny in it. A real woman playing one, but still. It was a bizarre plot point, and licked troon ass to the point the writers' heads have gotta be lodged in firmly to the shoulders.
Not to mention the over-bearing amount of hyper-femininity.

wheel of fortune has 7,000 plus episodes i don't know if i'd consider wheel of fortune all that relevant. i know a lot of people want to support south park b/c it triggers the trannies but frankly the show jumped the shark a looooooooong time ago.

Incredibly, the wonders of US military bureaucracy actually managed to enlist significantly more stupid soldiers for four whole years after the end of the draft.

Despite the evidence on the ground of recruits being less trainable, the DoD released a report stating "The quality of those serving on active duty, as measured by the education levels of active duty personnel and the average test scores of new recruits, has not declined as popularly believed but has markedly and steadily improved since the end of the draft." (Because the tests had been miscalibrated).

Heck you could show the average person on the street a photo of the main cast and they'd instantly recognize it even if they don't watch the show. South Park will long be remembered in popular culture even after it ends, Rhys will die a nobody with only the kiwis to celebrate his demise.

South Park is the Streisand Effect in show form. The more people get angry at it, the more attention it gets.

This season, they had an episode about censorship in China that the Chinese government censored, which only resulted in Chinese protesters organizing screenings of it.

The military ones are built very big and masculine and favor stripper clothes that look hilarious on them. The weeb ones are skinny fat and somewhat androgynous but have very high foreheads and angular faces and they favor juvenile and anime inspired clothes.
