AAAAAAAAlrighty guys, I got some update stuff for you!

Basically, Phil is whining about his views on the Majora's Mask and Monster Hunter playthroughs while simultaneously saying "I don't look at views anymore".
He is doing the same thing with these games that he did with Layton versus Wright a little while back; for anyone who doesn't know he basically blames the game for not getting good views, saying it's made for a "niche" audience and isn't a mainstream game. He's claiming that he doesn't understand why he isn't getting more views since 3DS is out of his comfort zone and he's taking a risk with it.


In terms of Monster Hunter he's literally being carried through the entire game by the chat because he knows NOTHING about MH. He also is already discussing the prospect of dropping consistently playing because of the low views he's getting.

Anyone watching his Evolve playthrough? I've followed this game since beta and I've seen some amazing matches that are totally exciting and epic... and then there are Phil's matches, where he doesn't communicate with his team mates (in a game where teamwork is crucial) and blames them for everything. Every video is identical. Team follows monster tracks in circles for 10+ minutes, monster evolves to level 3 with max shield and seeks them out, eradicates them all within 3-5 minutes.

"Support keeps missing!" > only manages to trap the monster playing Trapper when it's stage three and it comes to them.
 
I've been watching Phil on and off for a long time and I just found this topic. What I think happened, which happens to a lot of people who get rich and famous, is he got greedy. Although "old phil" was clearly racist he was still way more humble. Once Phil started making money off the gameplay stuff he completely changed into a different person. Then he met that girl and pussy got involved and there was no turning back. It is so blatantly obvious that money changed him for the worse. He is an awful awful person now. His ego is the size of a mountain. It's like he is a sweatshop that churns out gaming videos. I actually complained to him recently because he keeps raping my subbox with videos ands he actually told me I was an idiot lol. I didn't watch phil much in 2012 so I sort of missed his downfall but it such a classic example of greed. Now he's failing cause he ignored people for three years and is begging for everyone help. It's sad. I was there when he played AC 3 and told his fans to fuck off. That was a big part of his downfall. At that point he was getting like 50k views per vid then after that incident he tanked. fucking dumbass.

Yeah, he does that when people complain he spams too many videos. Any criticism given to him is returned with accusations of spam, negativity, trolling or just by blocking. Never expect Phil to take suggestions on board, no matter how nicely you frame them.
 
YouTube also told how many videos you had before. Maybe he hid the information?

And to think that one year ago and half his video count was 26.000.
He uploaded 7.000 videos in the span of 1.5 years. Talk about having no life. And he MUST do this to survive! At this point his channel is more or less slavery rather than a job.

Imagine having the need to upload 30 videos per day and play games 24/7 just to not starve to death. I think most people would go insane very quickly.
 
He doesn't really need to do that. Releasing fewer videos but having some actual quality would do him better in the long run. Though he's too far into his death spiral for anything to save him at this point.

Well, other YouTubers do this. But in Phil case it's too late.
If he started doing 1-2 edited uploads per day, he would still get only 100 views per video cuz of his reputation.

He once tried to do this with Street Fighter matches, and he got so few views that he resorted again to 5 min parts the day after.

Only 5% of his subs actually watch his stuff, and they are whiteknights like KG.
It's too late now, his lack of quality in the past means he must overcompensate with quantity, and there's no way out for him, since he scared away every fan he ever had by insulting them.

A change of format at this point would mean instant death for his channel.
 
Interestingly enough Phil has been doing some edited videos lately and getting some decent views on them...however, I'm not sure if they could be considered "quality".
He does his own version shitty version of TIHYDP which is like: "The Best and Worst of [Game title here]".
And while pulling in better views than he gets on just his vanilla playthroughs...it's not something substaintile considering the amount of subscribers he has.

Basically, no amount of editing can hide the fact that his commentary is mediocre...and that is what people come back for. Not what game you're playing but your personality and the quality of your commentary, and how much fun they have watching you.

Phil's reputation is fucked and really nothing can save him at this point.

When DSP says he’ll go out of business overnight if he changes his upload style, he’s essentially telling the truth. The fact is that he’s maintained much of the same content methods from 2009 and, though it isn’t as effective anymore as it was back then, it is way too late to change anything anymore. YouTube isn’t the same site as it was back then and more people have jumped on with Let’s Plays, and let’s be real here—a lot of them offer way more entertaining and informative content than DSP can ever hope put out.With each month that goes by the effectiveness of DSP’s strategy weakens even further, and right now it’s just barely sustaining him. He’s painted himself into a corner with his style. At this point any change he makes puts his income in enormous jeopardy if it flops, but the way things are going now with his viewer retention in the toilet, sticking to the methods that used to work five years ago will fail to sustain his lifestyle in the very, very near future.The gravy train isn’t going to last forever, especially on this oversaturated website with people providing much better content. The best advice Phil can and should probably follow is this: save some money while you still can, look around the town for a job, and make YouTube your supplementary source of income instead of your primary one. Be responsible with your spending as an adult should be, and seek to grow your audience in a genuine, welcoming manner instead of asking your viewers to spread the word for you.Your pride will no doubt take a hit. After all, you’ll be giving up a dream job that many others would kill for, but at this point you should be more concerned for your future in the long-term instead of just what gets you through the year.

Have you guys ever noticed how much DSP and Chris-Chan have in common?! At first you might say that they're nothing alike but the more you think about it the more similarities you'll notice.

- both of them are only-children
- both their parents are religious fanatics
- both parents didn't really care about their child which resulted in the bad parental upbringing and contributed to their awful personalities
- both can't handle stress and sigh a lot
- both never shut up about the trolls and haters
- both have no idea how to handle money or manage their own finances
- both had/still having to pay whores for love & sex
- both blame their health & illness for their shortcomings, (chris mental = his autism/phil physical = his back problems)
- both are narcissistic & delusional beyond belief (a mental illness they both share)
- both have no real friends
- both of them live inactive lifestyles and their love of unhealthy fast food is the cause of their obesity
- both manage to contradict themselves in one sentence e.g. Phil: "... a new chain I've never gone to before, I've only been there once or twice in my entire life!"
- both are not self-aware at all - it is never their fault!
- both documented their downward spiral into madness via youtube
- both published youtube videos where you seriously think, "How can anyone be this daft?" i.e. phil's Lightning Returns "unboxing"
- both suffer speech impediment (and there are tons of other examples out there, phil often speaks too fast without thinking which results in gibberish more often than not)
- both are terrible actors and therefore terrible liars (watch this and then this)
- both can't handle criticism

... and I could go on and on but my point is, DSP really is Chris-Chan 2.0
 
Nah. He's just an asshole. He's not particularly close to being like Chris.

Pretty much this.

I generally find actually playing a game myself more fun than watching someone else do it, so the only reason I watch these things is when there's a game I care enough about that I want to be better at it, and there's an excellent player who is also good at presenting his material and commenting on it.

The comparison between this kind of player and Dip Shit Phil is marked.

Good streamers do things like individually greet people joining the chat, answer questions, point out when THEY screw up, explain their strategy, etc. even while doing nearly impossible challenge runs and not breaking a sweat. They improve their channel and actually do something for subscribers to encourage that, while not fucking over the free ride people (who are where they GET those subscribers).

Things they don't do is bitch and whine about people using adblock, rant like morons when they screw up and blaming it on the game, play like shit (usually), treat their chat room like North Korea, etc.
 
As retarded as DSP is, I doubt he'd ever go out and mace someone with pepper spray but he's still a dumbass in so many ways.
 
New DSP Anniversary video where he honors his 6+ years of YouTube and remembers fondly his journey.

This actually seems a decent and positive video from him. It's too bad that tomorrow he will go back to his usual self.

I just discovered that Phil is really half-italian or some crap like that.

Woah. Then we share more in common than i thought.

Oh dat. Yeah, he mostly brought it up when he bragged about his genuine family recipe for sauces and the like for fare like spaghetti and things like that. He even stupidly implemented this sauce shit in a few LPs. He'd actually go afk to manage it. It was shit.

That always pissed me off whenever he did his 'Saucy Sundays'. Viewers would just be forced to wait until he gets back and it gets dull. He could have at least streamed the cooking process and give some advice on cooking. He's no professional but it would at least occupy viewers during the sessions.
