It's kind of amazing how literally none of this is accurate. It's not wrong, per se, but all the terminology is wrong or overblown. Wu did not "bypass" the controller board. She in fact attached the LED to.... a controller board. The way it's "compatible" with the Pi system running retropie (not a "retropie module") is that it has an HDMI input. That's all. Oh, and she "ran" a second cable to the controller board by plugging it in to the LED switch board and the controller board. Hell, depending on the monitor involved, that might not even be an aftermarket control board. I guess saying "I took a monitor apart to mount it into an arcade cabinet frame and hook a raspberry pi up to it and run MAME" didn't sound techie enough.

ETA: OH! Though the "added a dedicated scanline chip" is a complete lie. That's a setting in Retropie itself. Completely software side.

Anyway, they’re trying to push an agenda that isn’t making any sense. The owners of G/O said stick to your beat, that gamergate article didn’t drive shit for deadspin but it did help a bunch of scam artists drive a false narrative. I can’t wait until John loses this race.

First, Twitter bans political ads on their site, meaning Johnny will have to actually put some fucking effort into campaigning instead of just hitting "send" while on the couch.

Then Twitter restricts reports of threats or hate speech so that they can only be reported by the person receiving them, meaning that Wu-wu's White Knights can't mass report accounts that call out his BS or out him as a troon.

And now it looks like Deadspin and Kotaku are finally going to the giant tire fire in the sky. Now who will lob softballs to Johnny while reinforcing his Godzilla of Tech delusions?

All he can do is scream at Frank to soothe him with the newest Apple toys and rage impotently at Stephen Lynch much like a gnat buzzes futilely and unnoticed around a giant.

Deadspin is the latest in a long line of organizations that have proved the truth of "Get Woke, Go Broke."

Looking for people who would write for pennies, the company was overwhelmed by Social Justice Warriors who injected their personal politics into a never-ending avalanche of articles on the oppression of trannies in sports, the oppression of lesbians in sports, the oppression of blacks in sports, the oppression of multi-millionaire slaves in professional sports.

No matter the story being covered, it was infused with lamentations about inequality and oppression. All the stuff that people follow sports to get away from.

Real sports fans haven't read Deadspin in years. The site is a laughingstock on sports forums like Rivals and 24/7, where fans are allowed to post their own political opinions, which are overwhelmingly conservative.

That John blames management for ruining a company that was actually destroyed by people just like him is the kind of hypocrisy we expect from The Dedham Horror.

The staff all just jumped ship today, most likely expecting this to be a power move that will prompt GO Media to scramble to hire them all back with increased salaries. Won't they be shocked when the newest writers that GO Media interviewed in anticipation of this take over their positions next week...

Apparently, the owners would have been perfectly fine with that. What they weren't fine with was when they just flat out refused to even write about sports at all, ever.
