Curiously, I looked up this 'Tsf Monogatari' to see what it was about. Here's a summary:

This is the number one issue, really. Everyone believes all people are trans for the same reason. If you take 5 minutes to look at the actual stories of transpeople, it becomes really obvious there are different "types" and they shouldn't be treated the same. But it's been part of the trans agenda to erase that fact for a long time.

You are not quite correct about the party linr. The description you gave is how most people in thr medical/psych profession are presented with trans. But that is actually not the trans party line. In fact, if you try to say transsexualism is a specific disorder/condition, you are a bigot. The party line is now "trans is an identity" and anyone can opt in with zero effort -- but somehow, at the same time, need surgery to be "authentic". They don't have a good justification for why this isn't just elective surgery, so in front of complaints they may fall back onto blurry "ladybrain" concepts, with the intention to confuse you into thinking they mean transsexualism.

Edit: worth noting, the reason for this lying/manipulation is that historically, only HSTS were considered "real" transsexuals, and non-passing AGPs were denied. By lying to make your story seem like a "real" transsexual you were fast-tracked to hormones/surgery. This is documented in the literature.

Sounds like I'm a few years behind then - I thought the "it's a mystical soul identity and your body is completely irrelevant" model was still a fringe thing and that dysphoria/transsexuality was still the main focus, thus all the emphasis on medically transitioning kids and stuff. The party line being that it's not medical at all makes puberty blocker farms like Mermaids even creepier.

I'm surprised they were able to doublethink their way into believing both that your physical sex characteristics mean absolutely nothing and that if trans people can't get surgery to change their physical sex characteristics they will commit suicide. I thought the conclusion they'd come to would be that having dysphoria is transphobic because it means you don't think your penis is truly female, and then the people who still wanted surgery would fight the people who wanted to keep their girldicks.
