Connor really should submit an entry for Katsu's writing competition. I know he withdrew, but I think we'd all be willing to bend the rules for our special snowflake.
What was Katsu's writing competition about? I can't even remember.
So basically you're saying there are nine year old kids in Nike factories in China that are making more bank than Connor would as a writer?
Every time you reply to one of @The Knife 's posts (or vice versa), I imagine you doing it while you're both sitting next to each other on the sofa.

Even in mid 2014 Connor was still bitching about his parents, even though on other occasions he admits that he's nothing but a melodramatic poseur:

"You see, for as long as I can remember, I have been extremely verbally and psychologically abused by my parents. My mother is possibly mentally unstable and drinks a lot. It doesn't help that she recently lost her job, which paid pretty well. My father is, for all intents and purposes, a sociopath, and he once stuck an empty gun in my face, pulling the trigger. My grandmother is senile, and insists that my parents love me; "They've just got problems," she says. I beg to differ. For the past twenty years, I have suffered. Now, as I've said before, my parents have power of attorney over me, and they are the payees on my Social Security Disability account. I barely get to see the money, or where it goes, outside of paying tuition. Whenever they buy something, like a movie or video game, I have to pay them back.

It's confusing, and it's getting to me. Like I said, I'm at my wit's end."

No, but he does read his posts out loud to me from across the room, even when he knows I am also on the forum, which is kind of weird. /off-topic

This is going to sound A-Loggy here (even though I believe that Connor has long been exempt from that protection), but Connor, this is piss-poor excuse for abuse and you denigrate everyone who has had to put up with real parental abuse by using that term to describe things that everyone's parents does AND SHOULD DO. I'm sorry that your mother is possibly an alcoholic and mentally unstable, the one complaint on here that could possibly count as a trouble, but by itself that STILL does not constitute as abuse, and makes YOU the asshole for thinking that her personal problems make that so. Why the FUCK would your parents ever have to buy video games for your ungrateful ass and you expect to not pay for it (in your 20's. And you're complaining about them using the money to spend on your tuition? That's a benefit that many people can only dream of. I've always been curious about this supposed "abuse" you've talked about, which I always knew was a joke considering that you think that cutting in line is a genuine affront, and now I can firmly say that you are a bitch who has never had real hardship in his life and has no right to complain.

For someone who claims to have read On Writing its baffling he doesn't at least have a rudimentary grasp of the fundamentals.

  • Connor receives shitty service from TWO awful waitresses while eating out with his evil violent abusive family in a single day
undefined
I'm calling bullshit on the two rude waitresses. Seeing as how Connor won't say at all how they were rude I'm betting he acted like a dick towards them, they were unhappy about it, Connor got called out on it by his folks, and decided at home to cry about how mean they were to call him out on his shitty behavior because he's autistic! Most people with an unpleasant experience while eating out will go into details about it. Connor didn't even say how they were rude (except for the messed up order, and that's not the waitress' fault), just how awful and mean his parents are.

Plus, generally, it's best to give waitstaff the benefit of the doubt. Some people can be really, really awful to them. Also, it can get really crazy; like, for all we know, Connor's waitress was swamped with other work and forgot to make sure he got a plain burger. Which shouldn't even be a big deal, because all you have to do is scrape that other shit off. I do it all the time! It's no reason to send something back.

I'm not saying that you shouldn't be mad if you get shitty service, but given that we're talking about Connor, I'm having a hard time believing that those bitchy waitresses were out to get them. Worst case scenario, they were off their game because of other customers and/or Connor was a dick to them.

To you or me having lettuce on our burger when we asked for it plain would be slightly annoying but for someone with autism it would be as if they pissed in Connor's food. They still don't get paid enough to deal with that shit though.

I'm not familiar with the restaurant but maybe by plain, the waitress just thought he meant no condiments. It's not like sliding lettuce and tomato off is a huge deal either way.

I don't buy he's actually been abused by his parents. Everything he says about the "abuse" sounds like something out of a show he watched. The alcoholic mother, the father who pulls an empty gun out and pulls the trigger, are all things that come up in stories quite frequently and his way of telling the events comes across as false. Reading between the lines, it sounds like his parents are good people trying to take care of their autistic son and trying to get him to both apply himself so he can support himself and achieve something reasonably similar to normal socialization and Connor is just kicking and screaming the entire way.

If his parents farm him for all his tugboat dollars, how the fuck is he "paying them back" when they buy him vidya. With -what- money exactly?

I don't believe a word of this. Connor is a lying faggot who defames his own parents for internet cred. Fuck him.

Same. And this is coming from somebody who has legit dealt with emotional and verbal abuse.

@Connor Your parents sound more like realists and nags than abusers. Trust me, if you were enduring real psychological abuse, you probably wouldn't be as fucking arrogant as you are. You sound coddled.

Get bent.

Seriously, I was just thinking that. Maybe it's even someone who deserves their own thread...?:ween:

Hmmm. I would have to think about that. The Love and Dating forum produces so many gems of men who are terribly, terribly upset that women won't fall at their feet just for existing.

@Connor, I helped you many a time, so did @boldlyspicy! and many, many others. I wish you had listened. Because here is the truth: If you yell and scream long enough, people will stop trying to help and start to leave. You have basically fucked your last lucky sock my friend, I'm honestly done helping you. You are selfish.

Your selfishness will come back to haunt you Connor. Because people are tired. They've left your camp.

Someone should compile the total wordcount of all of Connor's posts in this thread and compare it with Redesigning Eva.

Just wanted to thank you for existing, Connor. Like many others, your unwillingness to make any positive changes to your life prompted me to work harder on what I love doing.

See, something good came of this thread! You should try to make it so that those 158 pages weren't in vain and take some advice from here for yourself. Just drop the Shinji/Gendo/Hannibal Lecter/Klaus Warrior persona. You need to smash it to pieces in order to acquire a new mindset. Without that, there can be no real, meaningful change.

Once again, if you can't be bothered to write anything, try programming. It's awesome.

R.E.:
74959 characters / 13499 words

Connors contribution to this thread:
29317 characters / 5250 words

So if Connor had ignored this thread and instead focused on his work, he could have produced over 4 additional chapters of R.E. or re-edited 3-6 chapters (if i write something, editing a page takes me twice as long as writing it, but that may vary depending on your writing style/thoroughness).
This was all produced in the timespan of a single month and that does not factor in his writing elsewhere, but even just going by this he could easily write a YA novel in a year or a regular novel in around a year and a half, if he'd put all the energy of his online whining into his writing. It would probably not be a good novel, but it would make a great learning experience and might improve the quality of his writing to an at least non gringeworthy level.

In conclusion: Take like 3-4 internet-free days every week, Connor, and focus all the time and energy won by this on improving your writing in general. - But I already know you won't listen to this advice anyway.
