If there's one thing you can NEVER talk about in a positive light on practically all pokemon sites/forums is cheating/hacking or emulation. Personally I don't really mind that, since I don't bother to use AR/Gameshark myself, but entirety of Serebii took it to a whole new level. The IRC channel for the site had scripts that would instantly ban and kick anyone who typed out any of these words: "AR, Gameshark, Pokesav (popular pokemon generator), emulators, ROM(s), etc etc". Not only that, if you did hack your pokeymans, you're a EVIL, VILE person!
Which is funny because I made an account just to get into the Vivillon trading scene and now that there's the France-exclusive Poké Ball pattern, when I contacted a couple people who were offering one they'd admit it was cloned/hacked as if that was a-ok with everyone. (I don't mind when people cheat but I'd rather not people assume that everyone else is ok with it, like I'm never going to so I don't want your hacked Pokémon, okay.)
You cannot talk about any other fansite on the forums/chatrooms (ESPECIALLY Bulbapedia, oh man will they sperg over that).
Also funny because the administrator of The Cave of Dragonflies, which admittedly doesn't have as much raw information as Serebii or Bulbapedia but has a lot more niche stuff (like in-depth discussions of capture mechanics, Safari Zone mechanics, and all the weird gen 1 programming), is a moderator in the fan fiction section.
