Leftoids love mocking the chemical imbalance theory of Depression as 'reactionary', Mark Fisher used to constantly critise it, because according to him being depressed is actually the normal response to our capitalistic status quo, funnily enough, he ended up killing himself.
Leftoids, especially feminists, also like mocking Simon Baron-Cohen's research into the causes of Autism (too much testosterone, too little prolacting and the XYY Syndrome) because they claim that it is 'sexist' and that it ignores female spergs/autists.

People are easier to control when they're suffering from severe mental health issues and not receiving treatment tbh.

That's why just about every legit cult bans the use of psychiatric medications and the like. Less official cults like the trans cult just discourage it and/or convince their followers that they don't have a problem (ie "you don't have depression, you have ~gender dysphoria~ and once you get your hormones you won't feel sad anymore!").
 
They seek out people who are depressed/mentally ill. Convince them that whats really wrong is that their soul is in the wrong body and they need to become the opposite sex. Discourage them from trying to go through proper channels (at least until the cult has taken over those channels which is actually happening) to ensure they start fucking up their lives. Encourage them to cut off contact with their family to pursue the delusion at all costs if their family doesnt immediately bend to their deranged demands. Drops support of you if you have second thoughts regardless of if you've done everything they wanted, like inverting your dick.

how does this makes sense
if anything i would expect people to be more docile and controllable when they're on meds, as opposed to when they're off meds (aka unstable and prone to mood swings)

Well, typically the people they target have depression and/or anxiety, not conditions that make them more erratic. Depression and anxiety cause people to stagnate and can keep them from exploring new thoughts, ideas, places, etc.

How fucked up is it that these people are trending (heh) towards agreeing with Scientology of all things? They're pretty opinionated about psychiatry too. L. Ron Hubbard openly called it quackery and that belief was part of what motivated him to dream up all the Scientology bullshit in the first place (he figured since psychiatry was just a bad con, why couldn't he create another and pocket all the money?).

This is standard autogynephile behavior. It's like a vicious cycle for them. They go through binge/purge phases just like binge eaters, only they binge on women's clothing (buying, wearing, masturbating) then feel guilty about doing it, get rid of their cross-dressing paraphernalia, and might even swear they'll "resist" the compulsive urge to cross-dress in the future, but of course it never lasts.

In fact, if you were to find a bag of seemingly high-quality risque/sexy women's clothing in large sizes that appear to just have been dumped for no reason, it's likely to be an AGP's "purge".

Downvotes are kryptonite for reddit users. They're deeply butthurt by negative scores. The entire site's built up such a ridiculous culture surrounding downvotes -- bad scores are always just "trolls," "brigaders," or "organized harassment." Fucking harassment. A little blue arrow. The scores are absolutely meaningless but they act like they're the most important thing in the world.

It's always amazed me that reddit formally and explicitly punishes "brigading" in the first place. "You're only allowed to use the chief feature of our site on stuff you find yourself." That's just stupid. You should be able to downvote stupid shit no matter how you find it.
