As a woman, the last thing I would do when getting on a plane is pop some ambien. Why? Because women sleeping on a plane are vulnerable. Sit next to the wrong person, and you could end up getting molested. Rhys, being a troon, doesn't have to worry about that -- so, of course, he pops those pills like they're candy.
And he's being deliberately stupid about the hypothetical pill. It's like those parents of Down's Syndrome kids that swear they are happy their kids were born with it. Yes, you can learn to see the silver lining in any situation, but no parent -- if they are being truly honest -- would ever say that if there were a magic pill that would make their child normal that they wouldn't choose it.
It's the same thing for trans. If being trans is as hard as they say (and given the 41% figure, I'm guessing it is) -- then a pill that would make youcis normal would be a godsend. It certainly beats chopping off body parts and taking medicine for the rest of your life. Rhys arguing that this is like Eugenics is fucking stupid. This would be a CURE, not a means to keep them from reproducing.
Just imagine trying to argue that someone with schizophrenia shouldn't be forced to take medicine to get better because that is ableist and society should be forced to embrace their crazy delusions and play along with them in order to be inclusive. Would people really believe that it is Eugenics 101 to make schizophrenics take medicine? That is why the first thing they did was get "gender dysphoria" re-classed as not a mental illness. Because without that step -- none of the other stuff would fly.
