I remembered seeing this Famitsu article for the top 10 most wanted servants in Japan. I dunno if this had been posted or it's outdated but I saw this last month so here you go:

I think is old, Muramasa is already in game but not implemented and he is in fact Shirou with a old man voice, Charlemagne has two versions in Extella Links, Kotomine is already in GO as Rasputin, Nobukatsu is also implemented but not playable, Archimedes is in Extella, also why the crap people want Shinji?

Well this is for FGO as playable servants probably which could explain Kayneth given his role in the Zero event and Kirei as Rasputin.
As for why people want Shinji it could be for various factors though I can assume he's probably more popular in the Japanese fandom maybe cause of the EXTRA games.

Doubt it, he was a twat in the first game (point, he was a kid with a adult avatar), i dont know what he do in CCC but even in Last Encore they show him as a imbecile that had every single card to win and always lose (tho the laughably part is that he has Silver servants that Nero easily dispatch)
Also the point that people were actually outraged when in the new figma waves of Fate he was bundled with Sakura, and you could not get her without getting him, this was more awful with the tumblrites because Shinji is a canon rapist

Shinji is probably more of a meme request and if he ever gets implemented it'll be Jason 2.0. for sure.

Jason implementation was strange, everyone believed that he was going to be the idiot we all knew from Okeanos but suddenly his lore make him sympathetic, to the point that people in my discord did not know it they should hate him or pity him
He regret heavily the things he did to Medea, he actually cared for her and wanted to wait until she grew a little more to marry her (he meet Medea Lilly, the vanilla one is the one that went cray cray after that) and everything he did to try to get the throne of his country, in the end he could not bear it anymore and neck himself in his boat that pretty much destroyed itself and crushed him for good measure, his Bond CE is practically him begging to get another chance to set things right this time also he pretty much tell you that he is not a hero, that all the cool things he did in his legend was because of the Argonauts that is why he give buff to them

Not gonna lie, I'm very happy I got Merlin, but I'm annoyed by the fact that Skadi will make him irrelevant later on.
Honestly, go for your Waifu, it's best to chose for love. But if you are chosing for pure gameplay purposes, and you aren't pulling for their banners, Caster Gil, Medea, Helena, or Nitocris are solid choices imho.

I am torn between Shirtless Gil, Helena, or Nitocris at this moment. So torn I might just go for Avengerdoggy

I personally went for Zerkerlot and it was worth it given how much of a beast he is on my team.

Just don't go for Helena unless she's your waifu (at which point consider necking yourself anyway) because she's honestly terrible. Long cooldowns for really underwhelming abilities and the damage on her NP is awful unless you're farming the weakest of mobs. Nito is the best Caster for farming, with Gil as the best free Caster for buffing your party. Doggo is a solid meme, not to mention a good boi.
Everywhere I go, its unanimous that its Titty Lancer who deserves the 4* ticket, unless you already have her.
But, if you have her, then its a toss up between Nitocris or Gil. I would recommend Gil
Edit: Not to mention, Offensive 4* casters are shit unless they're NP2

Skadi won't make Merlin irrelevant, Merlin will still be top support for challenging shit, Skadi makes farming even faster than it was before, Skadi also lacks any type of defensive support except NP which only lasts for 1 attack, She's built for farming or quick bursts and Merlin is for sustain

That's a relief, I saw a lot of people bragging about how Skadi made Merlin useless. But I'm glad to hard that's not the case. I like Merlin a lot, but was fearing they would power creep him. Like this video:
I recommended her because gamepress says she can be used in lieu of having Merlin or Waver as an NP battery:

But I concur in that she isn't even in my top ten most wanted.
Assasins too. I got Carmilla and Emiya, and welfare Scatcach, but I find their performance a bit lacking, I think. The gap between their 5 star counterparts is bigger than other class imho.
