You've been following the RabbiDee thread, haven't you? This passage describes her MO and non-stop e-begging campaign pretty much to a tee.

Equally unsurprising is how Sophie uses her sub-par artwork to bully strongly encourage people to asspat her, blindly devote themselves to her, or donate towards her daily living expenses under the guise of any of those acts making the donors good allies/supporters of transgendered people when it's more about her alone and to hell with anyone else -- fellow transgendered artists included.

It's become pretty normal for me, I'll admit.

As has seeing them the next couple of days talking about the new game they got, or showing off some kind of trans merchandise, or start talking about how food and a place to stay is nice and all, but what they really need is to crowdfund all the surgeries that will finally allow them to feel better, no seriously this surgery will be the one that truly validates them...

And realising that it just means that there's a lot of trans people out there who have seen that simply being trans is something they can beg with, and that adding extra sob stories is just what people expect from them. That leveraging their oppression can pay dividends, even if all you do is produce a subpar comic strip, or sit on Twitter all day, or have form for scamming money off people in the past and suicide baiting if you don't get what you want.

Which means there's all these trans people who think being trans is enough to deserve free money. That being trans is enough of a disability that they should be supported for merely existing while trans, and that anything else that might be co-morbid with being trans only counts if it can add to their oppression and to their ebegging. And that it doesn't matter what they say they need the money for, because it becomes very clear they just want to be paid for staying alive, rather than to stay alive.

Which when you come down to it sounds pretty transphobic. Such a shame all these trans people seem to have internalised this transphobia, I guess.

He'll probably do that once the comments call him out for wrongthink again. Billy's familiarity with pop culture tends to just be knowledge of a couple names of things kids are into these days, which is why her characters are equally big fans of both GoT and Paw Patrol at the same time.

I think the “storyline” strips are supposed to be comedy with a message (and in Labelle’s defense, a supposedly comedic work dropping all pretenses of comedy when it gets around to the message is hardly unique to AM, that shit’s everywhere on sitcoms) whereas the “posters” are just supposed to be the message, at least that’s the impression I get
