Typical technique of the modern left. Classify any and all criticism/disagreement as "violence", and then anything they do in response is "self-defense". I guess Labelle wouldn’t mind if people regularly referred to him as biologically an individual with XY chromosomes.

It’s not insulting and doesn’t stop him from choosing his pronouns or gender.

But really, using scientific terms in everyday language is stupid, it’d be like if autistic people demanded every non autistic person constantly refer to themselves as neurotypical and it wouldn’t surprise me if one reason gender special’s like using the word cis is so they can passively aggressively call people ‘cissies’ and other such things.
 
The thing about "cis" is that it's meant to be used when making comparisons with trans equivalents so you don't have to say "non-trans" or similarly clunky terms. You're not supposed to toss it around like it's a term people identify as.
It'd be like if asexuals started going around calling all non-asexuals "sexuals" and acted like this somehow wasn't them being smug dipshits because "sexual simply means not being asexual".

This is something I've been trying to figure out; how are marginal groups different from marginalized groups?
So clearly asexuals, transfolk, poly whatever are marginal because there really aren't that many of them. That isn't good enough so they act like they are being actively marginalized when the reality is the vast majority of people never even think about them.

You know the first time I saw in used in a chemistry class I went "ooooooohhh!" And my professor thought he had explained something in a way that gave me a profound revelation. Reality was too stupid, I didn't have the heart to burst his bubble.

At first I thought maybe the Gay-Straight Alliance had refused LaBelle permission to use their name, but then I realized that if that had happened we'd be hearing about how they're LITERALLY NAZIS
