Only Smash fans would use tragedies for character confirmations. Remember when an earthquake delayed a Nintendo Direct which made Smash fans think that Isaac was confirmed?
What exactly happened, in this case?

Isaac, from Golden Sun, has a commonly used move in the series where he summons earthquakes. The perception was that Nintendo feared it would be in poor taste to announce him after a tragic earthquake.

Of course, the actual explanation is that it would be poor taste to air it when the employees at Nintendo would most likely have been affected by the earthquake, and would have appreciated the time off to handle the matter.

I knew about that one.
I'm actually asking about that tweet from Sora Ltd. about Kyoto Animation, and the autisticly insensitive retweet from a Goku sperg.

Oh. Kyoto Animation burned down and the fire killed about a dozen people. It's a major animation company, so it hit hard with a lot of the people in the surrounding area or fans of their work.

So the DLC isn't even out yet and there's talk about banning him. Granted some of it seems to be jokes (like the change.org petition) but the fact that this is even being discussed at all is ridiculous.

People need to just give the character a month or two's worth of playtime before jumping to conclusions. There's plenty of characters that sound great on paper but aren't as good in application.

In my opinion, Hero looks overall lackluster to balance the fact that he can randomly kill you. His meter management especially looks like it severely hinders him, and as for his neutral special, the fact that you need to stand still and take the time to read which spells you actually get completely nullifies their utility since it requires your opponent to sit and wait for you to hit them. If Hero could pick a spell and then choose when to use it, then it would be busted. Since he can't, it's more akin to something you could only whip out in a free-for-all or team battle. Anybody who tries to get him banned before he's even out are being hysterical.

Keep in mind that this is the same community who thought Simon and Richter were going to be completely broken upon their announcement, and they wound up being some of the worst characters even casually.

I've just tried out Hero recently, and I just want to say this: the random crits rarely happened, when they did happen they weren't instant KOs, and the most powerful and useful spells from the command menu are absurdly hard to connect (in addition to being completely random), making it more convenient to use the MP for the non command specials over those.
So yes, they have in fact jumped the gun.
Like always.

2018 he had the collusion Grand Finals with his boyfriend.
What happened this year?
Not quite collusion for EVO 2018, just that they got tired of getting boo'd and stood still for grand finals for about five minutes until the TO yelled at them.

That's an important distinction because it at least takes a mature yet immoral mind to collude with your opponent. It takes a stupid, whiny, childish one to hold up an entire tournament with tens of thousands of people because your feelings got hurt. They wound up making EVO look amateurish and the entire Smash community look like a bunch of crying manbabies to the rest of the FGC, especially since it was televised if I remember correctly. The TO should've disqualified them and brought the people the pair knocked out for grand finals.

I am curious about what happened this year with Captain Zack, because I haven't heard anything about that until just now.

So basically, Captain"Please carry me bayonetta"Zack started talking to a player called Ally last year who was actually good at the games and knew what he was doing, it sounds as if zack pushed for a relationship despite being 16 and Ally 26 and it evnetually became a thing. In around June/July this news came to light and Ally got hit with a permaban for dating a minor and went quiet ever since.

Rewind to about 3 days ago, some twitter account called "Smashbrostruth" Popped up and said they were going to reveal information about their relationship to show that Zack was an autist that pressured Ally into it and that Zack is a piece of shit. In an attempt to save face zack posts http://tl.gd/n_1sqvg15 . He quickly gets dropped by his sponsor and banned from the next big smash tourney. This autist honestly makes the melee shit look normal.

Thanks for sharing. I'll just quote this for posterity:

Hi everyone.I figured this would happen, just didn't expect it now.
One thing I'd like to clear up is that I never told ally id expose him if he desired to leave me, I touch briefly on this later in this statement.
This twitlonger is in no way trying to defend my actions. Im simply explaining the story. I apologize to Nairo and Zackray for ruining the integrity of competition and to the entire community for letting my personal relationship affect an entire result.
The truth is I told Ally to throw to Zackray at Prime saga, and Nairo at Momocon.

https://imgur.com/a/gA4yR5Z .
The reason was because when I was doing poorly in tournament I was watching him always perform well and get top 8 placings when I believed he should not have been allowed to play. We were together while I was 16, and during that time I was uncomfortable for almost the entire thing. I was constantly told to not tell anyone about the relationship and it'd be bad for both of us etc. When he found out I told tamim he got very angry at me and said it's my fault things are going wrong etc. Tamim tried telling me to leave him, but I never listened until he told me to think of what my family would say. I decided to end the relationship at Dreamhack Montreal, and that was the first tournament I started getting frustrated at the fact he was able to play.
Fast forward to Let's Make Moves.
I'm in a very dark place, I literally feel like Ult is not my game and they just destroyed my character. I lost in bracket and I go outside and message ally to come outside so i can cope. He agrees and says shouldnt we not be together anymore. I just say i dont care anymore because of the emotional turmoil I was in. Every tourney after that I would progressively get more and more upset with him in general. I would purposely be mean to him in hopes he would leave me, because i just didnt want to end the relationship again. then at prime saga i told him to throw to zackray. then momocon happened and same thing vs nairo.
I'm really sorry for what I did and I know it was wrong. The thing about all of this though is that Ally and I have talked about it and we understand each other's side. We both decided to let the throwing situation go, yet somehow it was leaked to that twitter account and they decided to post it without either of our consent. Ally told me he doesn't want the account to post this shit, I don't understand why it's being brought up publicly and not handled by the Code of Conduct.
I didn't have to post this as all "evidence" was speculative, but I thought it was the right thing to do. After posting this I'll take a small break from posting so much on twitter, and I really want us all to start taking steps forward from simply just wanting to cancel people regardless of the victim's(me or ally for different reasons) wishes. I vow to never try to manipulate a match result again and the case of me is being looked at and being dealt with. I hope the twitter account just drops this

Also according to this post, there's photo evidence that he forced Ally to lose matches intentionally so he could make a comeback through bracket. I thought this was the controversy last time, I wasn't aware that he literally colluded.

Another thing, that part about "the shit you pulled at pound" Really bothered me so I looked into it, I was expecting it to be some of their degeneracy but turns out it's literally zack throwing a tantrum he lost in the first stage of losers brackets while ally came first.

Actually... hold the fucking phone, I just noticed something that I havent seen on twitter or reddit about this situation.

EVO fallout:

This hungry man, realizing that he'll have nothing to do during EVO since it won't stream him hanging off of a ledge for ten hours, decides to make a tweet which implies that Smash is what's carrying the FGC for no reason, annoying everybody.

MKLeo won the tournament with Joker, and people are crying that he should be nerfed. Except MKLeo was the only Joker in the final brackets, has consistently been one of the top players across multiple Smash games, and made a climb out of losers to win EVO. His opponent also clearly became nervous and begun choking once his losing streak began. MKLeo himself crawled out of losers and nearly lost in a win-or-die scenario, making a one stock to three comeback and a reverse 6-0. That's nuts.

Of course, the logic to counter that Joker would be much more common than a single player using him if he was the most broken character is...that nobody wants to use broken characters to win...or something? You know, instead that you need genetically engineered super thumbs utilizing science from forbidden Nazi human experimentation to use Joker effectively.

Joker is hardly broken, what the fuck? He's an above-average character who has some decent speed and combos but lacks any good killing power without Arséne.

MKLeo also apparently got dunked on by Mega Man out of all fucking characters. Broken my ass.

So Captain Zack forced Ally to lose games... Isn't Ally the guy who lost to that trans girl and created some weird huge controversy? Did Zack force him to lose to her?
