A lot of anime tropes (and fictional tropes in general) are done for the audience/writer convenience. A rooftop is a great place to have a private scene with only a few characters, just like an empty classroom. Even though in reality schools don't like the students being able to sneak off unsupervised.

It's like how the protagonist is always in the window seat so they can see outside and only talk to the secondary characters surrounding them.

They're claiming two instances where Vic and Kara did the tango at a 2008 Animazement panel and the other weirdly wasn't caught on video? Christ, they really are willing to disregard all reason to avoid admitting they're wrong.

Kara's butthurt over not getting cast in Vic's Star Trek series and instead losing the part to Vic's ex-fiance, who she implies is a jealous bitch, was about as petty as it gets.

It is likely that rooftop access at school might have been a thing decades ago (when the writers went to school) But these days buildings tend to lock those doors for fear somebody will commit suicide via jumping. Just look at the tragic KyoAni Fire this week. Of the 33 dead, 20 were found trapped trying to get out the locked rooftop access fire escape door.

It's weird knowing they locked the doors on a bunch of adults. At least you can argue children can be unpredictable.

When you stick a bunch of people in a room and tell them to work 100+ hours a week, even if that work is drawing cartoons, they're gonna want to jump.
