Oh my God Lily actually made a good point for once. If creating thousands of Pokemon was at all difficult for game freak, they wouldnt've done it 7 fucking times already.

I love how he had Gardevoir do to him almost exactly what Brock Turner did to that girl, but, in spite of how indifferent reality and fiction are to him (ie his black and white moral system tends to overtake his enjoyment in fiction), he decides Gardevoir needs forgiveness. I remember one of my last few posts here was about Brock Turner and how Jerry attempted a "gotcha" on someone who said that some people needed forgiveness, which Jerry rebutted by bringing up Brock Turner, yet here he is in the same situation telling everyone that it's okay to forgive their rapists.
That would be a RIP Jerry moment if worse things haven't happened to him before that he's been able to walk away from. But, it's certainly a valuable card (or a 5-star ultra-rare gacha!) that can be played by any of you (posters and lurkers alike) if you want to discredit Jerry in some Twitter thread or something.
I wish I could say this Gardevoir thing was surprising or groundbreaking, but it really isn't. Jerry's very monotonously predictable. He's either not trying to hide his hypocrisy and his general "rules for thee but not for me" attitude anymore, or he's just fucking with everyone for a reaction because he's that much of an attention whore. I mean, if I recall correctly, he did write more vignettes about his lesbian toddler Mags because people were upset about it. So I'm sure he's relishing in this negative attention that he's apparently getting.
So, really, it feels like it'll be something that comes and goes. Again. Lost to the sea of nearly 10,000 posts on this thread.
Maybe now some of you see why I'm not so ecstatic to post on this thread that much anymore?
Like I said though, this could be a very powerful card to use. If you want to make sure Jerry's never taken seriously by anyone outside of his bubble, that comic will be helpful. Because it shows point-blank that he's insincere about most of the things he preaches against unless he's the one doing them. It would hardly be surprising at this point if Jerry became an actual Nazi while still condemning Nazis.
Though, I did some digging because I was interested in Jerry's opinion on a certain topic, and what do you know?

I'm very certain they are reusing models, and just about every animation we've seen, attack and overworld, are straight-up ripped from the previous games. Just about all of the moves we've seen them showcase are the same as the last few games, and Hop is straight up using the same "excited" animation that Hau uses in SuMo. Besides, even if they did completely remake the models, it was completely unnecessary, as the models in SuMo were 4K. I'm not so deranged that I'll completely change my opinion on a topic or stick to the opposite side just because someone I don't like agrees with me.

I agree with your sentiments. Completely and wholeheartedly. Just because I've mostly retired from this thread doesn't mean that any contempt I've had for Jerry has disappeared. It's just that each and every single point you've made has been hammered to death. The proof that Jerry's a despicable person is very much out there, and very much present. Yet it seems each and every time, he's managed to walk away without anything more than a scratch. He hasn't lost subscribers en masse (as far as we can tell), the hate against him on social media tends to be coming from the same people (ie saturnstar, e4b, those people), there hasn't been any big "cancelling" of him, and any attempts are either brushed off as alt-right hate or his fans run to send him love notes, regardless of the circumstances. This could be perceived as a good thing, of course, because it shows that his influence is very limited. But for people who actually care about making sure his influence either stays where it is or diminishes entirely, you want more. Believe me, I get it.
To be fair, I’ve been ambivalent about the games since the beginning of the controversy. After seeing extensive autism from both sides over what amounts to a children’s video game, it became clear that no side was a winner. Maybe the games will be bad, maybe they’ll be good, maybe there are good reasons for the models and GF/Masuda aren’t total frauds, I’ve honestly stopped giving it serious thought since last week.

My main contention is that Game Freak can do better and they know they can do better. Their games have sucked for the past 5 years (excluding ORAS, but that's my personal bias) and the national dex thing plus the flimsy, easily disprovable excuses they're giving to justify it shows that they're averse to improvement.
Funny that you should mention that; Game Freak “can do better” for decades at this point. As some people pointed out, even as far back as the GBA era, other games were kicking Pokémon’s ass in terms of graphics and technical limitations. I remember Diamond and Pearl being absolutely fucked in terms of frame rate and speed, among other things.
I haven't played Pokemon since ORAS, but ever since gen 6 they've been trying to pump life into the series and it isn't working. Mega Evolutions are all but canned because they don't change anything. Z-moves are stupid. And this new macro-fetish bullshit just looks like an excuse to lock shit behind an online service. Not to mention the games have become pathetically boring and easy.
If you want to get technical about it, those elements are still very much there. That being said, I’m not sure kids even play Pokémon anymore. It’s been a while, I’m not in touch with what’s hip.
I once thought the same thing about the broken clock about another lolcow. My trust was misplaced then, let’s hope it isn’t now.
