This entire thread has made me more irritated than an entire life's worth of retail customers. Connor, stop being an argumentative ass and actually do something with your life. Stop making excuses, stop getting into arguments, just fucking go and do it. Not doing anything ever is infinatly worse than trying and failing, because as cheap as it sounds, at least trying is some modicum of effort.
"He who dares, wins."
You're not going to achieve anything by fiddling your thumbs. Failing and trying again is so much better than not trying at all because at least you can learn from failure.
It's easy to tell people who are trying to help you what they want to hear in the short term, harder to maintain it over time. Connor is a professional "Working On It"-er. He probably pulls the same shit with his parents on a daily basis.
This morning, I worked. I do menial work, eight hours a week, at a psych facility.
The amount of time I can work at this facility is strictly limited because I also live there.

Guess what? Having any kind of interpersonal relationship means sometimes you do have to discuss something that you don't particularly care about. Same goes for the other person.
You do it because you care.
I feel terrible for you "friend". Clearly they deserve better than you.
Thats how I'd describe your posting, yeah.
People have written paragraphs of heartfelt advice with the best of intentions all you can muster are single sentence responses. Don't you feel ashamed?
