(Just so you know im not trying to start a flame thread at all, I just want to share my feelings about something that desperately needs to be talked about.)
If you have been following the internet recently, you will have noticed that one animation critic. One we know very well, TheMysteriousMrEnter has been terminated from YouTube because of multiple third party claims. This man had 69K subscribers and hosted 3 animation series, one called Admirable Animation, MLP:FiM reviews, and his most scathing and most popular review series, Animated Atrocity.
So you're probably asking who would do this to someone? Well the answer lies on Viacom. You know, the company that owns Nickelodeon, MTV and Paramount? As expected this turnout has received some controversy.....ok, a LOT of controversy. (He has a REALLY dedicated fanbase) Everywhere I go on Deviantart I see comments of people defending Mr. Enter and raging at Viacom.
But now, I want to add in my two cents, what do I think about this whole copyright incident?....Personally, I think this is a case of two wrongs don't make a right. Let me explain....
Viacom has been rather notorious in the YouTube community for being rather conservative. Which is understandable if you're as cautious as the next guy........BUT, that doesn't necessarily mean they have the right to delete whatever video has your shows on. They're doing it for a reason you know, and that's because they want to watch the shows on Nick and MTV.
And they also have the right to record videos of the shows. Review or not. There's a reason people watch those television channels, and a reason we have freedom of speech. And that is not how copyright works i'm afraid. And then you have TheMysteriousMrEnter, I understand he's angry over the whole situation and I agree it was unfair on his behalf, but that doesn't mean he has to resort to a huge rant about it.
I'd give you the link but since I really don't want to get into any trouble with the guy, I'm just going to give you the cliff notes.
1. He called Viacom a special kind of evil and "the worst company in existence".
2. He said that the only thing Viacom does is "take well producing companies like Nickelodeon and MTV and strangle them into corporate sludge".
3. He compares Viacom's actions like "a little kid flipping over a game board when they realize they couldn't win". And as I said earlier, everyone agreed with him......
Well, I got some bad news.....
Just because you says you think a company is horrible DOES NOT MAKE YOU CORRECT. He is not God, not everything hes say is going be true, infact sometimes they might just be lies. I'm sorry but I cannot defend MrEnter. He may be right in some of his reviews, but here he just comes of having a lousy attitude.
Again, that bounces back to "Two wrongs don't make a right", An aesop that I know very well indeed. Like I said, I'll admit that Viacom did a rather jerky move on deleting his videos, but Mr. Enter is coming off as rude, mean and cold-hearted himself. Both have made rather bad decisions these past few days and hopefully, they'll look back and be ashamed of themselves for putting themselves in this mess in the first place.
Well, that about ends my soapbox rant, now I want to hear from you. What do you think?
Now please, do not flame on this page, or to me and give me a honest in-depth opinion on what you think of this.
God bless you and have a nice day.
